My friend is gutting out his HP. He's pulling the Q6600 and HD 4870 video card and wants to install those items on a new mobo and be able to run cross fire. His budget for a mobo is about 150. Any ideas??

Yeah that's a really good board. My friend went ahead and ordered the Black Ops. Should be here by Wednesday. ...So what happened? Did Rainbow Brite grow up and get a job working for Gigabyte? That board must sell like crazy down in Miami!

good choice on the black ops. if your friend decides to wc the nb, best to get a different top for it... the supplied one is coated aluminum.

Haha, yeah I bet it does sell well here. Lot of :db: around south beach and all...

Gigabyte has been doing the crazy color thing for a while now. I guess if your case doesn't have a window it doesn't matter much, but otherwise it makes it tough to match the colors with other equipment.

Even with the crazy colors, I like the board's performance so I suck it up I guess

Nothing wrong with the GA color IMO. Looks good in my case.

Well, you can get a few cards from bothe nvidia and ati that have the blue pcb and will match the board. If everything matches color wise it will look good.

But you definitely don't want red radeon cards with a blue board.

Why not? Looks perfect to me. I don't see why red and blue look bad together?

Well my machine uses red and blue LEDs and stuff, but MY preference is that the boards match. it's not a written law though.;)

I was looking at cards the other day and saw a 275 on a blue PCB for only like 200 bucks. I thought they would look great with a gigabyte board.

And for the record, My radeons are red on a black board too.
i would have loved to have black ones that matched.

My 4870 is blue so it matches. Though I do like blue and red. In fact I have red tubing with the blue mobo and I think it looks fine.
Maybe not as cool as red/black or whatever, but blue/red is looks good to me.

Same thing I tell everyone else. As long as it looks good to you, then that's everything. If everyone else likes it too, even better, but it's not a requirement.;)
