Well FUFUFUFUFUFUFUFU and Danger Den have posted theirs, and so far, they look kinda nice.

I'm just wondering how good the waterblocks are going to be coming from EK, Aquacomputer and Watercool. :coke:

If they didn't release the card, that would be funny.

They probably shouldn't, what's it going to have a 3 month lifespan? G300 is supposedly already taped out.

Yeah, the lifespan will be extremely short, by the looks of it. I wonder if there will be many waterblocks to choose from. For example, it usually takes some time before blocks by Watercool hit the market (block for the 4890 was just recently released). It wouldn't make much sense for them to release a block for a 295X2 when the next gen cards are already out or just days away...

True. Then again it seems the "normal' lifespan of a card these days isn't too much longer than that anyway. Now comes this "DX11" bullshit...whatever!
I'm still using 4870s and I like them. I'm not falling into the trap anymore.
And I am never spendng the prices they charge for these "flagship" cards ever again.

Anyone who pays over 300 for a video card is being raped.
These things don't cost anywhere near that to produce at the numbers they make them at.
The solution is to stop buying them and go with something that does the job instead of paying out your ass to be in the 3dmark stud muffin club.
most i ever payid for a video card was 545$ for my old ati X1950XT-X... but that card gave me the ability to max almost every game in 2 years... so i think they were given out nicely:D though, i would never give that much for a gfx card today :/

Nope, and it's not about the money, but the principle.
Video cards are rapidly becoming consumables like spark plugs, toilet paper and rubbers.
I refuse to get ADD and grab my ankles every time one of these bastards turn out something new only for it to be worth half a few months later.
you can also look at it at the performance view.. if people would only satisfy with not having super high settings, and 8*aa & af, most of the people in the world could settle with a single 4870, or even a 8800 gts 512 mb... who the fuck needs 2 4870x2īs ? or gtx 295īs... dont take this wrong, if i had the money, i would LOVE to get one ore two, but i dont really need it...

Since I only game casually, I'm happy to lag a generation or two behind what's new on graphics cards. My most powerful and most expensive rigs are always the ones used for tests, anyway. ^^
I've never shelled out for a top-of-the-range card. Currently, there's a 4850 in the computer I actually use for work and gaming. Hasn't let me down yet. :)

That card looks long. Does anyone know if it is longer than say a 8800GTX?
This could play havok on rigs with a reservoir located on the edge of the extended ATX mobo tray.

Woah...that things looks long as hell. If it's as long as it looks, and longer than the current high end cards, I'd have to redo my entire rig to fit those in. I don't know..maybe it just looks that way.

Exactly.
I have a couple 4870s now. They do great for me. They are going to drop all of the prices of them and I'm going to buy another. 2 of them are awesome, three will be more than adequate for another year or so, and I don't have to feel like I was dumb for throwing away so much money. I grew up a poor kid, and I have learned to appreciate money deeper than it's face value.

I saw two single pcb GTX295's at Computex. The cards appear a little longer than the GTX285.
Give me a minute to watermark and I'll post pics here.;)

Hehe, well I payed $1000 for my dual 8800GTX's, which are now 2 years old. While I paid out the ass for them at the time, turned out to be a great investment as they're still some powerhouse cards.
But I do agree, these new $500-600 cards are fucking ridiculous, especially when there are $200 solutions on the market that perform on par with the $600 counterpart.
+1 for the FUFUFUFUFUFUFUFU:P

Only time I spent a ton of cash on cards was my 8800Ultra and it stood strong and a leader for more than a year and a half. That baby saw me through a ton of gaming and was only recently pulled in favor of something a little beefier.
As for these 295's, is anyone else getting the feeling they got when the 9800GX2 was released? Feels like they are trying to reuse current tech to suck us dry as best they can. That being said, for someone who was currently in the market for a 295 to watercool, this is a great option since you won't have the stupid heavy block warping the shit out of your card. And yeah, ugly, get some Watercool sex in here please.

To be honest, Watercool blocks look ugly as hell to me, Aquacomputer and EK are the really pretty blocks. But I agree, the DD block doesn't look all that nice, I think I'm being too nice and comparing it to their other waterblocks. You know what happens to an average looking girl when she stands next to the butt ugly girl.
And yeah, midrange is the way to go. About a day after I got a 4870x2 I started to regret it. Should've gone with a 260 or a single 4870.

Or dual 4870s. For some reason single gpu cards work a lot better crossfired.
I'm waiting for that price drop so I can pick up another 4870s and have triples.

i recently got a 4890 to upgrade my 8800GTS 640mb and i love it, i was thinking about going to a 4870 but with a $20 difference i couldn't see a reason why not to buy it. I've been doing a good amount of benchmarks on the card and i can easily it 1ghz Core with this card on air

Bro's, in my humble opinion, anyone who spends money on anything from Danger Den, other than their re-branded tubing and Bitspower fittings, is an ignorant fuck that should just end their pitiful existence. Their ugly ass, over priced blocks look like they are made by a bunch of drug addicts with dremel tools and hand grinders.
As for FUFUFUFUFUFUFUFU, I'm not even going to waste anymore of my time typing...:shake:

I didn't even know they were coming out with a single PCB GTX295. I still really don't get the point though, if they are just coming out with the GTX300 series right after. Doesn't seem to be solving any problems.
And I have never gone for the "top-of-the-line" cards, because most of the time, they seem to be too much overkill for what I want. I mean, my GTX260 allows me to play all the games I play on max settings, no problem. Never failed me (so far), and cranks out points in folding@home like nothing.

It should solve the stock issue the old 295 had... since supposedly this one has less manufacturing cost and faster production.

you hit the fuckin nail on the head there worthy!!i usually stay 1 generation behind current hardware.what i use works fine for me.i really do not give a shit about 5 extra fps blah blah blah.
i only upgrade where there is a solid improvement, not 3-5% increase in scores, tests, whatever.

Railing against The Man is all well and good, as long as you realize that no one is obliged to ride the train with you. $500-$600 twice a year is more than worth it to me in terms of being able to play contemporary games the way I want to play them.

I'm with ya.
The reason I didn't bother with dual GPU cards this time around was all the problems I had with my last pair of x2 cards. With the 295s being on separate PCBs, I said no way I was gonna deal with all the heat issues again, and that was before I decided to watercool my machine.
