What is the best 512mb AGP GPU?
My current motherboard is a complete bag of balls and only supports PCI or AGP.
So the upgrade route is rather "limited" lol

I need a better gpu than the current nvidia mx-4 I have in here.
I want and need a 512mb card really.

Oh right I forgot one important thing.
The psu I have is a piece of shit also and doesn't have any gpu power plugs lol
And I think I only have one available 4 pin molex, and I think that puts out the option of a molex to power cable splitter?
=[

Here's the ebay page that I got up.
Some of the cards have pretty damn good prices right now, watch them shoot up soon lol
I just want to know, what is the best one.
Also what's the best price/performance one to go for.
Not that that matters right now with all these current cards lol
But i'm limited to what I can spend.
I want to try and keep it under 20 pound and will go to 30.
This includes shipping mind.

I have to be a cheapskate right now because I have a holiday to pay for soon.

So I await your answers =]
Thanks in advance guys.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102730

Also comes in powercolor red reference flavor too.

100 bucks to come out of the 1970s isn't bad.

Thanks for the link worthy =]

I don't think nvidias 9400gt would come in agp.
Doesn't seem right lol
I was thinking about a 6200.

All I want it for in the meantime is so HQ videos don't lag and be able to play at least some games lol

No problem bro.

What are your long term plans?
You going to build a new machine soon?

I wish I knew you needed an agp card because I recently gave away a bunch of them.
You don't have a pcie board at all?

Too bad you're all the way over in Wales. I would have lent you a board and a good card. I remember the days when I wanted so much and had no money.

Now I have lots of money and rarely want shit. lol

I might have a 6800 AGP, but it probably needs a cooler.

Thanks guys =]
Only problem would be the shipping costs :P
I still can't get over how much it is to send stuff from the USA to the UK, it's criminal.

BDW I know it's old as hell lol
But it's better than the onboard video which is only 32mb lol

What's that 6800 like?

Worthy I wish I was in your position :P
I have a job interview tomorrow with one of the UK's biggest used car firms, i'm hoping it goes well.
I'd love to be in the position of having the money to be able to buy what I want for once =]

I am planning on building a new rig yes.
Oh god yes :P
I have the case and the cpu cooler, but that's it so far.
It'll probably be sometime later this year, say 2-3 months maybe a little more if I do get this job before I will start the rig.

Was planning on an AM3 rig since the price seemed very good.
I have no idea what will be out by then so looks like I will just have to wait and see =]

IMO don't bother and save up for your future pc.

I know it's hard but it will be worth it.

+1

I was in the same boat as you before I finished college a few years ago, and I kept blowing little bits of money on "newer" parts for my old ass rig. It was a waste of money, and in the end I didn't really get any better performance and wished I had just saved the money. I know it's hard, I know it sucks, but just save the money, you'll be glad you did.
