Go ahead.
I may build an el cheapo rig with my Phenom 9950BE once I get my Phenom II 940 and fold with the 9950/crunch with the Phenom II. Dunno.

technically, you could do both with each rig. f@h wants 1 cpu, so if you had a quad you could run 3 wcg, and 1 f@h.

Personally, I do both. Both contribute to great causes, both are right. It comes down to personal preference. I can't tell you why you should crunch, but to look into both WCG and F@H and see which one fits your needs best.
Both are honorable programs.

You can fold on video cards while WCG cannot. If you want to play with both, you can setup a WCG cpu client and a F@H gpu client.

That's what I've done. I run BOINC as my main, and fold on my GPU's. While I do commit much more to BOINC, it does not mean it's any better or worse.
Like I said, both are honorable projects, and both are equally great.
