(pardon my english)
Hi im pretty new to overclocking as some of you probably noticed from my other topics

and iv been noticing some wierd things with asus ai booster.
no big oc done to any of my components

Mobo Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe
Cpu AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+, 3000 MHz oc 3200
1# Everest reports my cpu as this: (a 6400+) due to the overclock
CPU DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 3225 MHz (15 x 215) 6400+
2gb 800 mhz 4-4-4-12 ram
2x Asus 8600gt 512

now to my "problem"

Normal oc in ai booster
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc123/Lincmodelmaster/ocnormal32.jpg

and sometimes it lowers to 2.7 same vcore
i did some of the bench tests in everest and it reported the same as with the oc on 3.2
for the cpu queen test 10837 points
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc123/Lincmodelmaster/ocloweringto27.jpg

now this is what worries me
the cpu pumps up to 3.7(almost 3.8) without vcore changes, no change in temperatures either
i get the same ~10837 score in cpu queen
and the 3.7 clock aint staying stable enough for me to do a 3dmark run
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc123/Lincmodelmaster/ocrisingto37.jpg
now since neither core temp or everest shows these strange increase/decreases in speed should i care
it should also be mentiond that cpu-z only reports a 1.312vcore
2# And i dont seem to get any performance increase why?
3# Is it normal for ai booster to do as it does (hardly unlikely)
4# how do i fix it

Thanks in advance

The best way to overclock and get real results is to do it in the bios. I have no experience with the program you are using so ic ant help you with that.

im not using it to do the over clock simply a program to monitor
and im just wondering why it shows these strange jumps in clock speeds

when the processor isnt in use it lowers the multi

Im not sure what the name for it is but mine will idle at x6 and jump to x9 under load.

Download cpuz to verify the readings from aibooster

that wouldent be 100% correct
cus i have only clocked it to 3.2 it shouldent show 3.7 from time to time am i right:confused:
and it's not the multiplier that jumps it's the fsb
and i have been using cpu-z i mentiond it in my first post
but i have not seen these jumps in cpu-z yet!

Use AOD 3.0, on AMD's website. AI booster sucks penis balls.

Yep, I have had this exact problem when using this program on my m2 crosshair and 5000+be chip.

As mentioned earlier, just use the BIOS and you can't go wrong.

AOD is made for in-Windows OCing, the days of BIOS alone are pretty much over.

I boot 3600, push to 3914 in windows.

OH! lol AOD = AMD overdrive!

haha I forgot about that one. Yes that is a pretty good program.
That was the one with all the sliders, right?
I've always been bad with abbreviated names. So many of them.

Yeah, I used to use that one. It had some issues abck then, but I'm sure they improved it by now.

So your saying its better to overclock that way? And does it save your settings? I cant remember.

I don't set mine to save YET. I'm not where I want to be.
