View Full Version : Anybody have experience with Swiftech Stackable rads?
Been thinking of getting two more MCR320 stackables to add to my build... but then I've heard a lot that they do no good and sometimes actually hinder the temps...
I want the best possible temps, and I like overkill.... but if it's not going to do any good then i'll skip it...
the two loops I was thinking of adding the stackables to are these:
Loop 1
EK150Res>D5>MCR320>MCR220>i7 920
Loop 2
Ek150Res>D5>MCR320>MCR220>2x GTX2xx (not sure which cards, but probably 260's or 280's...)

Do I see a 920 listed in there? You giving into temptation?

I haven't got mine yet :(
USPS or Canada Post lost them and I'm still waiting on the claim.
I might just ditch them and roll with the regular MCR320s

Zlojack, yea i think I might just ditch them... because I just heard that they need higher CFM fans to REALLY be used at there full potential... and my fans are only 57CFM at max, and i'll have them turned down for the most part....

Well I REALLY am happy with mine so far. They do a better job by 4c than my BIX does at peak usage and about 6c at normal usage (Crunching)....
I use (6) 110cfm fans (120'x25's) on the stackers with the fans turned up to a MAX 65% and the BIX using (3) 133cfm Kaze 120x38's same setting...
Now the six 110CFM fans on the Stackers do not make anywhere near the noise the Kaze do, mainly because three of the 25's are inside the case between the RADS... makes for less noise....
Never buy because say something is good or bad, but so far I am happy with my decision to try them out....

they'll improve the mcr320's numbers, but half'ing the temps won't happen,
i say have them in series...if space is available...
