i was thinking of mounting a 360 rad in the roof to cool my cpu + mosfets+ chipsets
but would a 480 be overkill even if i did get the classfied instead of the vanilla?
3 4890s watercooled with a 1gh oc a 240 rad in push pull is enough?

Well this morning I found out that my X3 720 and ATI4890 can crunch F@H with two BIX480's in serial.... ahh and no fans running. ie. It was pure convection baby
Ambient was like 50-55 oF though.
So I guess with a i7 and NF200? chipset, a 360/480 rad.... with fans would be fine.

Err, was about to hit submit and I saw the 3 4890's :D:p
Yes go with the 480 rad.

see i going to use a cosmos s the roof can a 480 for the cpu loop
and i can fit only a 240 at the bottom in push pull with yateloons
i can do 240+120 or a 240

i would put the 3 gpu's on the 480, and the cpu+mosfets+chipset on the 240+120

i trust RR more
Some things XS doesnt answer
I want to know what everyone thinks because i saw that coolermiester put 2 9800gx2s on a 240
would putting ati cards on the classfied hurt performance due to the nf200 chip?
just a noob

not really, but it kind of defeats the purpose of getting the classified

youll be surprised at how much a rad can handle, as the coolant temp increases, the rad performs better due to the higher water-air delta.
ive had a single 140 cooling cpu, nb, sb, mosfets and gpu. water plateaued out at about 45 under game load.

you just need the right fan for the job...

i'm sorry i wasn't able to understand the question.
but here's my question, are you going to use the 480 with a 240?
if so putting everything in one loops is plenty enough
480rad-->cpu---240rad--->gpu-tri fire?
i have 2 285s in parallel, and i can use 1/3 the rad i have...or in other words..i can safely use my 285s with just using a 120mm rad,
currently i'm using 3 fans just to satisfy my lowest temp hunger,
i believe Ballzor when he's saying he's using a 140mm rad for cpu and gpu and nb.
also martin reviewed the mcr220, 300w with 2000rpm fans the air-water delta was around 8c...which is sorta high...
when skinnee reviewed the mrc320, 300w with 1800rpm fans air-water delta was around 4.7c
assuming you have 480+240
having excess rad capacity on the 480(if you have 480+240) you can use it to achieve a lower air-water delta, but this will only be done if you have the 480 and 240 rad in one loop.

two loops
res>d5>480 or 360> cpu>mosfet>chipset> res
res>d5>240> gpu>gpu>gpu>res
if i had single loop if would be rather big
but i dont know where you are going with this
All rads are xspc Rx series ( i dont give shyt about the fan spacing)
yate loon mediums push/pull in the 240
the 360 would have push pull but if it was a 480 it would be almost pushpull

ahhh dual loops, 240 will be ok, especially gaming, gaming doesn't really heat up the loop continually, remember we have checkpoints on some games so it won't really heat up the loop..
but if you run your system at max load 24/7 i'd prefer a 360(or 240+120), i use mine for folding so i prefer a bigger rad, i'm actually going to replace my gpu rad from the mcr320 to 2- gtx480,
i hope it fits in your case.
i think the rx series is ok with the new batch...some here hate it, i kinda like their rads especially the 4x120mm.

you know dealmaster pics on his rig
mounting his mcr220 in the 5.25 bays
thats where the mcr120 would go(no xspc rx120 they are expensive)
see that area has my bigNG litterally being xtremely cooled with the 240 fans pushing against it and the cold air from the front hitting it if i put my 120 rad there its going to get great air but i am not sure about it
i might reconsider on the rx120
does any1 have idea of 3 4890s power consumption?
should i get classfied for the bling factor or get the vanilla for my needs?

sorry i'm not familiar with deal masters setup, but here's my thoughts about it, i myself have a coolermaster case not the cosmos but... i'll be putting 3 rads on it, one on top, one in front, and one at the rear, all will be intakes, i'll have the side panel and bottom part as my exhaust, i'm actually planning on putting a hole on the right side just for venting..but anyways..those are just random thoughts...
i've yet to play with my Evolver Build before i start with the CoolerMaster project.

i see yeah the only exhaust will be the rear
everything else is intake
i will think about doing a 240+120 and a 480 at the roof
doesnt any1 know the clearance from the cosmos s bottom to the table?(2 fans are outside while the 240 is inside with another 2 fans)

I agree the RX rads are very good. I like them too.
I have a 240 right now and it's great. I am however about to get rid of this Black Ice extreme. I think it sucks because it takes way too much wind to make it work which equates to noise. The rx rads are very quiet with the same fans.
Probably going to add a 480 and just mount it up top, but I need to figure out a way where it looks good.

speak for yourself :P I personally like to push the limits of whatever I get, just to see if I can and what the result is, especially when it comes to pushing rads. At one point I had two processors and three gpu's on one 3x120 BIX :)

the 480 would be just at the 2 5.25 bays where LED display would
it could work but if only someone will give me the extra money to get the feser one

my design is going to be the same
internal everything
smoked acyrlic window, white ccfl lights at the bottom, cfl at the top
black case+ red and blue tubing with black sleeving
a alpha cool display to post my temps etc..
