RedRaider : LIVE CHAT with GARY from SIDEWINDERCOMPUTERS will be starting shortly....:woot:
sidewinder : Good evening
zlojack : Great news!
RedRaider : Let the questions fly, guys....:king:
Big_Daddy : howdy, gary
sidewinder : RRR is there a way to expand the chat box further
zlojack : Hi Gary! I just received another order from you perfectly as usual! Thanks
Big_Daddy : hit the arrow on the right hand side, full screen
zlojack : Gary, on the right hand side there's a button with an arrow for fullscreen mode
Big_Daddy : uh oh
RedRaider : I'll start, so GARY how long has SidewinderComputers been in business?
sidewinder : thank you. Great I'm glad, we try to take our time to make sure nothing is missing
sidewinder : January will mark the 10th year for Sidewinder
Sadasius : Whoa......
Big_Daddy : http://www.realredraider.com/vbulletin/mgc_cb_evo.php?do=view_chatbox
Sadasius : How did I get here?
Sniper : He thought something was missing till he looked in the peanuts lmao!
RedRaider : 10 years of SidewinderComputer goodness........FTW
Kayin : I'm betting youfollowed a link
sidewinder : BD: I see that, nice setup
Big_Daddy : it's opened for the users now.
Big_Daddy : thanks. damn glad your here
Sadasius : oh...Thanks!
Big_Daddy : Gary, we'll be saving this chat log, and posting it in vender q&a. You can also download it from the archives (top of chat)
zlojack : Nice of you to do this, Gary. Stuff like this really makes a difference.
sidewinder : Yep, hard to believe that is coming up. Our introduction online was August of 2000, but we were building systems for local customers for the first couple of years. We built for Indiana State police alliance, local fire departments, farmers, Hoosier Park race track, among others
Sadasius : Good job guys this is awesome! Hello Gary!
sidewinder : Sure. Forgive me if my reply might be lagging a bit, I'm stuffing myself with the first meal of the day at the moment.
zlojack : Bon appetit, then! :D
Kayin : feel free, food is always good
Big_Daddy : eat well. you'll need it. :)
sidewinder : This brings back fond memories of the IRC client days on unix and vax, back before the web really existed
breezyjr : holy crap... I started on irc stuff
Kayin : Sohow long have you been watercooling?
breezyjr : Unix stuff... there were no "browsers" you fired up your 2400bd modem...
RedRaider : Gary, I appreciate the fact you decided to start stocking Aqua-Computer and BitsPower goodies...:king: Major props, bro:2up:
RedRaider : there is a refresh button, to the right of the text box...
sidewinder : Kayin: I think our first products resold were early 2001, our first or second Swiftech order contained some of their original blocks. I believe they were MCW-462 or something along those lines. My first liquid cooled case was also 2001 when they introdued their quiet power case, it was built around 3/8" OD tubing
sidewinder : Breezy: You got that right. I had a local dialin to indyunix.iupui.edu. Caused all sorts of trouble for the IRC opers back in the day... :fight3:
Kayin : Yeah, I know the system. was that the one with the John Guest fill & bleed setup?
sidewinder : RRR: I am glad that we did as well, Bitspower is the fittings God. I think he is coming back online now, he had to restart his computer
RedRaider : VINCENT is coming...:woot:
Big_Daddy : a 2fer.. gary & vincent
sidewinder : Kayin: Yes sir it was, that first fill and bleed setup in fact used 1/4" Tubing. It took forever to bleed because of that. But, back on the old P4 Northwood 1.6, it was enough to run it at 2500+ fine :)
Sadasius : I never ordered from Sidewinders before. I have always ordered NCIX, PPCs and the like. What set's you apart from the rest?
breezyjr : I think it's funny this chat window opened as I was checking out the Hank at PPSs thread... hehe
zlojack : I've got a ton of BP stuff going into my build and a lot of it came from you, Gary.
Kayin : We're of the same vintage in that then... That makes me feel a lot better.
Big_Daddy : How many packages do you ship in a day?
sidewinder : Sadasius: If I had to name one factor, I would say the biggest would be the actual shipping rate tables. We try to not profit off any orders from shipping cost. Even our first class mail tables are off published usps rates (we pay for the envelope cost). Our consistency would be next, we try to be accurate, prompt. We also are not just specialized, but we target what we specialize in. We won't just carry anything, I'd like to resell what I would use in my own system.
RedRaider : breezy....not appropriate
Kayin : So when did you discover Durelene?
Kayin : That's the biggest thing I think I've hiton in a long time
sidewinder : Bid_D: Depends on the day, from 50 to 150, it just depends. We ship international, so we are always busy, receiving calls and emails, questions, etc
coolmiester : Hey Gary, just thought i'd say hi from the UK
breezyjr : my bad RRR
sidewinder : Kayin: Our supplier in Indianapolis introduced it to me. They call it "the cheap stuff". I always assumed it was the same as masterkleer, I ended up buying some to confirm it not long ago
sidewinder : Welcome Coolmiester
Kayin : it's not, though
Big_Daddy : So, how can you carry tygon for so cheap?
Kayin : different durometer
sidewinder : One moment, customer calling
Big_Daddy : heh, business first
breezyjr : Well, Gary... I have to run.. But wanted to tell you, I found you through reading RRR worklog, after placing my first order for a $3 item and gettting it next day, I'll always check you guys out first.. Keep up the great work..
RedRaider : tell them RedRaider said CALL BACK....
RedRaider : thanks for coming Breezy...
sidewinder : Thanks Breezy we do our best. Night
Kayin : Any stuff you currently are looking at carrying?
Sadasius : Any future projections for Sidewinders?.....I have a tonne of questions..lol
sidewinder : Big_D: I have made this clear to resellers that buy from us, wondering why our prices are not much less than we sell for. I consider tygon a loss leader product. We make 20 to 30 cents a foot on it on most tubing to be honest with you.
breezyjr : if you guys are still chatting later... I'll be back.... take care...
sidewinder : Kayin: Our Aqua product selection will be expanding. Yate loons are probably next up. We have XSPC blocks in. There is a long list of new items, our newest arrival is the Banchetto 101 modular case
zlojack : But it keeps people coming back for more. Your prices often are better, even after shipping and everything, than ordering here in Canada
Big_Daddy : zlo, that's why we love em so much...
Kayin : Hey, I still use and recommend Durelene for anything I can. Thatbend radius, even on a few years old pieces, is amazing
sidewinder : That is part of our strategy Zlo :)
sidewinder : Kayin: I'm glad that you like it. I used it on my last sytem and it was a little stuck in position, I switched to AAA00038 for my last build to see how it holds up
RedRaider : I saw you are now carrying the XSPC top / Reservoir Top for the MCP355 pumps...:2up:
Big_Daddy : good products, good service, great prices.
utnorris : hello all
sidewinder : What I mean is, after a year, the Durelene 1/2 x 3/4" that I pulled out was a tad bit "stiff", if that makes sense
utnorris : hey gary
zlojack : Yeah...it's a good one. It's tough up here because I imagine the market is so small. NCIX has a decent stock, but there are a lot of specialty items that you have that aren't available up here.
sidewinder : RRR: Yes, and when time permits, a custom pump 355/xspc top will be a separate product
Kayin : right. However, when dealing with thinwalltubing, it's been one of the best tubings...
sidewinder : hey utnorris whats shakin
utnorris : I see you have the new Aqua HD4870x2 in stock, any chance of getting some pics of the internals?
Sadasius : In keeping with lower prices and lower shipping cost to the budget consumer, do you also allow them to pay through paypal without the need for a credit card?
sidewinder : utnorris: Let me ask AC if they have them available, if not, I can crack one open so long as I don't destroy the o-ring :)
Big_Daddy : heh, problem is when does Gary have time to take pictures..
sidewinder : sadasius: Yes, international customers and domestic alike can use paypal on checkout
utnorris : cool, i appreciate it.
utnorris : any new products coming?
Big_Daddy : and photoshop them.. :)
Kayin : Last I checked, he did
sidewinder : :)
Big_Daddy : still offeres his photoshop services
zlojack : Well Gary, thanks for your time this evening. I've got to tend to my little one's bedtime! Cheers all! :D
utnorris : i tell you what you send me one and i will do a review for the site and compare it to the FUFUFUFUFUFUFUFU that i have on hand. :D
utnorris : and I will take all the pics for you.
RedRaider : night...zlo
sidewinder : ut: you just missed that answer, our latest is the banchetto 101. It finally arrived yesterday. We have a few new Delta fans in stock also that I failed to mention. If you're interested I can list all the model numbers. Bitspower just sent us a nice shipment and there are 7 or 8 new fittings in there
Big_Daddy : that's mighty genurous of you UT.. :)
utnorris : cya Zojack
Sadasius : Are you doing a new build yourself at the moment Gary?
sidewinder : later zlo
utnorris : i thought so Big Daddy
RedRaider : Banchetto 101 modular case.... I want one..:slobber:
utnorris : but seriously i could do it and of couse ship it back.
utnorris : or buy it if i like it
utnorris : :D
Big_Daddy : wow, that is Awsome http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/miba101clmoc.html
Big_Daddy : bencher's wet dream
sidewinder : sadasius: no but I am considering it. Our server is a dual xeon 2.66 @ 3100, and its getting a might old for my liking. It will be i7 of course if I end up doing one
utnorris : sweet
RedRaider : Guys, this is a Q & A Live Chat.... Not the time/place to ask for review samples...
Kayin : Is that server crunching?
sidewinder : ut: thank you for that offer but I would not be able to resell it once its used. I will get you those internal shots one way or another if you'd like them, with the white glove treatment of course :)
Sniper : lol Kayin
Sniper : That Banchetto 101 is bad ass!
Fitseries3 : any idea on some 140mm fans?
utnorris : yeah yeah
RedRaider : GARY join our crunch team.....RedRaider Tech
Sniper : 10 x nicer than DDs torcher rack
sidewinder : Hi Fit, Yate loons will be first. I am working on Deltas as I mentioned last night. If Delta will make them for us without a high qty requirement, we are there.
Sadasius : So what team do you bat for? The red team of the green team?
sidewinder : RRR: is it Boinc or do you have a link for me
RedRaider : Sniper, your correct. Not even in the same league
utnorris : so seriously, any plans for mips?
RedRaider : hook him up guys
Sadasius : doh...."or the green team"
Big_Daddy : yes, Gary. one sec.
sidewinder : mips.. the risc based system (i.e. cray?)
Kayin : I'll third that,motion passes. We agree,Banchetto.
Fitseries3 : if i must go with the yates i already have 3
Fitseries3 : just need 13 more at a good price :D
Kayin : no, he stuff from sixdesign.de, MIPS blocks
utnorris : no the cooling blocks.
Big_Daddy : http://www.realredraider.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=72 (WCG)
Big_Daddy : your good to go gary.
utnorris : really like their ram block
Fitseries3 : any word on a i7 mount for dtek yet?
sidewinder : I have plans to review the banchetto, with as independent of a viewpoint as possible. It should have been done by now but my free time this last weekend was eaten alive
Kayin : I've got one of their blocks, it's quality is amazing...
utnorris : or enzotech?
Sniper : these blocks here Gary. http://www.mips-computer.de/
Sniper : that's what they were asking for.
utnorris : i7 for enzotech?
sidewinder : Kayin: Ok, I have seen their blocks. I had no plans as of this moment but I will give them some consideration
Kayin : Currently one of the only viable low-profile blocks.
utnorris : sweet
sidewinder : i7 for Dtek: from what I know, its in the works, but no ETA in writing yet. Enzotech 1366 retentions are on order, as of today. I don't know if its for their heatsink or their blocks yet though. The picture appears to be a top piece, so I don't know yet on that one
Sniper : they are nice for sure
Fitseries3 : dec 27th my dtek tops will be made
Kayin : i7 mounts are not rocket science. Gabe mentioned the extra support for the built-in backplate, but other than that it's just a wider bolt pattern.
Big_Daddy : Can you see this RR?
Kayin : I'mwondering why people are taking so long releasing them...
Sniper : D-Tek is droping the ball hard on those unfortunately
Sniper : sweet fits!
utnorris : be back
sidewinder : You are correct Kayin, it is just wider. I think also i7 can handle more weight with the additional backplate in most, if not all i7 boards
Elysium : i7 EK mounts?
sidewinder : Elysium: Stuck in customs. "15 Dec 2008 22:51:44 New York Jfk Airport Shipment Held In Warehouse. Follow Up Actions Underway."
sidewinder : Elysium: TNT sucks.
Sadasius : What made you want to get into the computer business? Besides making money of course.
RedRaider : Customs sucks.....they held my Aqua-Computer order this summer. Obvious they rifled through my package. Fingerprints on everything.
Elysium : Thanks for the update bro. TNT???
Kayin : what did you order from AC, bro?
sidewinder : Sadasius: I enjoyed it. I've been into computers since I was 4. When my original business partner Andy and I created Sidewinder, we just wanted some part time income, and we knew what we were doing. We had been building systems on the side before 1999, and we felt it was a logical step to incorporate. The online portion of Sidewinder came about in Aug 2000, and the business plan was to do it full time. Six months after it started, I quit my full time job and have been at it since
RedRaider : Aquaero goodies
Kayin : gary, since you can import AC, you should look at the Tinplex XTs to go with the CPU blocks
sidewinder : Kayin: What you see on the site is what we have at the moment. We also have the following new AC items: cuplex XT di, cuplex hd, ramplex Ram cooler, HD 4870x2 aquagratix, twinconnect for GTX 280, HD 4870, 4870x2, and 5 Aquaero 4.00.
Kayin : I have a pair, and they're amazing
RedRaider : where's Andy now?
Kayin : Should have pointed that at RRR
sidewinder : elysium: TNT is a shipping company. It turns into DHL once it reaches the states. Problem is they are switching to UPS it seems, and now stuff coming into the states is not getting cleared as fast.
Eddie3dfx : HI
sidewinder : RRR: Andy still works for the sheriffs department where I used to. He is an investigator now, coincidentally he is in your home state at the moment working on a case
Eddie3dfx : Gary, hey how are you? By any chance, did the aqua shipment come in?
sidewinder : hi Ed
sidewinder : Yes, one of two has arrived Ed. Second larger one is due in probably next week
Sadasius : I know building computers for others has been a real headache for me and I do not do it anymore. Especially people who want a kick ass system but don't know enough or have good enough surfing habits to keep it running. Did you run into similar problems?
Kayin : Gary, while i know you're not goingto divulge your pricing, can you comment on the disparity with Sharka's Cuplex XT price and yours? It's close to 50 dollars different...
sidewinder : next up from AC is their 790i block, more CPU Blocks, more Core i7 kits, MSI wind netbook heatsinks, Ball Valves (G 1/4 threads), aquaero LT 4.00, and more GTX 280 blocks
Eddie3dfx : Did you ever figure out why they only ship on mondays?
Kayin : What were we paying for beforehand?
sidewinder : kayin which product specifically? the exchange rate was probably one factor, AC deals in Euro. Not sure if you follow the currency market, but the Euro was pwning the USD over the summer. In the last 2 months, the situation was reversed, and now its reversing itself yet again
RedRaider : Kayin: high profit margins, boat, bmw...etc
Eddie3dfx : Kayin, FYI I talked to some of the people at Sharka.. they might no be carryina aqua anymore
Eddie3dfx : not
sidewinder : eddie: you know, that is a good question. I did not notice that as this was our third order. Perhaps their distance from the post office made it more economical to only go there once a week?
Kayin : Cuplex XT Di specifically
Eddie3dfx : Any word on the delrin resevoirs Gary???? Make sure I get mine before Joel!
Fitseries3 : would 120mm to 140mm adapters work?
Kayin : Sharka and I had words over shipping. My only AC stuff was purchased through a forumdeal.
Big_Daddy : or they are elietests
RedRaider : :bat:
sidewinder : Kayin: I would like to say also that our goal is to get product to market at what I consider the most reasonable price possible.
sidewinder : Eddie: by chance are you after white or black?
Ricey : Hello Gary
Kayin : I figured as much. I just wanted to make sure, I got bit by the AC bug many years ago.
Eddie3dfx : I'm telling you, the aquero lt would sell like hotcakes
sidewinder : hi ricey
Armeniandave : How's it going Gary
Kayin : missing one item to make my AC setup complete
sidewinder : Well I am impressed by their blocks. Have not had an opportunity to install one yet, but I am amazed at how thin they are
sidewinder : Fine how are you ArmenianDave
Kayin : And it looks like UNdesigns has dropped in too...
Sadasius : Why isn't there a decent fan controller that matches a black and red theme?
Kayin : I'm telling you, you'll love the Twinplex XT.
Sniper : The white delrin is All that!
Kayin : Because God made Dupli-Color, and they make spray paint.
Armeniandave : Very well. It's dave from (UN)Designs.
Sadasius : Thought I would ask in case there are some manufacturers in here...hint hint...
RedRaider : Reasonable Prices / Over The Top Service.... That's why your my Vendor of choice :2up:
sidewinder : sadasius: this is the closest I can think of at the moment: http://www.akasa.com.tw/akasa_english/spec_page/control_panels/spec_ak_fc_03.htm
ballz0r :  hi everyone
sidewinder : g'day ballz
Kayin : Hey bro!
Eddie3dfx : Gary, any chance you are going to get the misc parts from aqua, like radiator extension, rad grills, cool misc parts
sidewinder : Ballzor: I showed my wife your girlfriend sexxing up the 560s. She found that quite amusing.
Sniper : That's a nice FC
RedRaider : ballz....:woot:
utnorris : on the hd4870x2, does it used the factory backplate to cool the memory on the back or heat sinks like EK?
ballz0r : I dont have any questions... just wanted to say hi
ballz0r : :D
Fitseries3 : where did you get those deltas ballz0r?
Kayin : That's so funny
sidewinder : I can look into it eddie, we've just been targetting the main items first
Eddie3dfx : did you see my review on the ramplex?
Eddie3dfx : They work great with the bitspower adapters
sidewinder : Ed: nope, have not had an opportunity to look for reviews on them. Did you test 26001?
Kayin : Isn't the ramplex still al?
sidewinder : The downside is the 1/8" threads. Need to use an adapter
Kayin : I still need some of those too. Next year, after my wallet rebounds...
sidewinder : Yep it is aluminum, have one in my hands here
Eddie3dfx : Not sure, I thought they only had one model
Eddie3dfx : let me find the link
Kayin : Currently, my wallet is on life support. It's on the floor, and my wife feeds it pennies to keep it from going into the light
sidewinder : Utnorris: yes it must use the factory backplate, I just opened one up and no backplate included.
Eddie3dfx : http://img395.imageshack.us/img395/4577/screenhunter01oct161158hy9.gif
utnorris : cool thanks
Armeniandave : Take care Gary always a pleasure dealing with you.
sidewinder : 15 allens hold the 4870x2 together, It may take me some time to open this puppy up so lets see what Aqua says about internals
sidewinder : Likewise Dave have a good night
Kayin : Hey, is there a g1/8 3/8" barb?
Eddie3dfx : yes.. but it's not very good
Kayin : How so?
Eddie3dfx : The ID on the G1/8 to G1/4 adaptor is larger than the G1/8 3/8 barb.. i have a few
Kayin : 4 of those would fix my chipset loop
Kayin : Xould they be drilled out?
Eddie3dfx : um.. don't.. lets just say I had to have aqua send me a new ramplex top..
Kayin : I meant the fittings.
utnorris : Gary its not a big deal just if you get time. ac probably has pics they can send you.
RedRaider : Gary: Any experience with Yate Loon 120x38 fans ???
Kayin : I'm looking fo a fiting that won't cover over the windows on the tops of my blocks
sidewinder : RRR: Nope I'm afraid not, I have not played with any Yates yet
sidewinder : yep ut no sweat
Kayin : http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Aqua-Computer-Twinplex-XT-Motherboard-Chipset-Block-without-fittings-(24138)
Kayin : that's what I have
Sniper : HTTP 404 - File not found
Kayin : on he link?
Sadasius : yeah same 404 error
Eddie3dfx : What are you posting the G1/8 3/8 barbs?
Sniper : Gary I have a buddy that his order for GTZ 1366 got screwed up. Can I pm you his name & see if you can figure it out for him?
Sniper : Later I mean
Kayin : no, my chipset blocks
RedRaider : anymore questions for Gary ??
Kayin : still hunting the barbs i want
Sadasius : I created a social group here on this website "PWHSWTC (People Who Have Sex With Their Computers) Group". Do you go cray over new parts Gary and do you think such a social group is a viable one?
sidewinder : sure sniper send me an email if you can, sales@sidewindercomputers.com
Sadasius : "crazy" doh
Fitseries3 : has anyone noticed the odd barbs on the gtz?
Sniper : got it thx muchly
Kayin : Much is odd with that.
Sniper : no I
sidewinder : sadasius: I am sure there will be some kind of demand for that group :)
Sadasius : I was grasping at straws for questions...lol
Kayin : I'm not sure how appropriate that is...
Eddie3dfx : hah
Fitseries3 : theres hardly any taper to them so unless you use 7/16" the tubing doesnt want to stay on
Kayin : Gary, what's your stance on stuff created by the community?
Sadasius : Just a parting joke...
RedRaider : got a new member...:woot:
sidewinder : Kayin: Anyone can make a great product, it does not have to be an established "manufacturer" at all. Some of the best have been created by the community. If it were not for these ideas, cravings and demand, we'd all still be using the stock Intel heatsink
Kayin : Do you carry items created by the community regularly?
Fitseries3 : nice! systemviper must have saw my sig on tpu
Kayin : I'm not as familiar with you guys as I'd like to be..
Fitseries3 : i may be sending some of my tops to gary
Sniper : You should check out Fits tops for the Fusion gary. Very nice work on those!
Kayin : I may have to send on a few reservoirs then...
sidewinder : Kayin: I give everything consideration. It all goes back to whether I could see myself using such a product in one of my own systems. Iandh comes to mind. I think of UN Designs as well, their pump mounts are great. I'm using one on a D5
sidewinder : Yep if Fits would like to resell them to stores I'd be interested
Sadasius : Well I have to get back to work.....Thanks Gary for the chat it was informative and much appreciated. Thanks to the management for this as well. You have done a good thing here.
Kayin : I'll PM you with some information afterwards...
sidewinder : See you Sadasius thanks
sidewinder : Kayin: reservoirs you make?
Kayin : I'll post some up, I work in polyresin-pound on it with a hammer and it lives, but i's still clear
Kayin : also alcohol resistant
Kayin : basically solid tygon, chemically
Fitseries3 : why are fans so much $? lol
RedRaider : thanks sadasius.... We do this to help our community...
Sniper : Cause you need so many Fits lol
sidewinder : Send me a product detail if you get time kayin, or post it here and let me know when its up, I'd like to see what you are doing
sidewinder : 140s, Fits?
Fitseries3 : 8 x $15 = $119 + shipping :(
Fitseries3 : http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=316&products_id=24003
Kayin : Sure, I'm developing a few items on the forums...
Fitseries3 : them
Fitseries3 : cant i get them for like $6 each like the yates?
sidewinder : one moment
Fitseries3 : oops
RedRaider : PPC ..... I don't think I just saw that...:bat:
Dagger : lol
RedRaider : you'll be receiving a PM...:hmm:
Fitseries3 : well i guess i coulda gave the FUFUFUFUFUFUFUFU site link
Eddie3dfx : fyi. there is a brand that has a 120/140 adaptor.. aerocool makes em
sidewinder : it depends a lot on shipping costs from overseas mainly, the D14BL-12 can be done that cheap
RedRaider : FUFUFUFUFUFUFUFU will be here Friday, 6-7 PM (CST)
sidewinder : we used to stock those. they didn't do well for us
Armeniandave : Gary popping in and out tonight. Are you seeing much new product coming out lately or has the economic conditions affected new product development
Eddie3dfx : for performance reasons or simply no demand?
Fitseries3 : nothing much used 140s till now
Fitseries3 : i bet it will pick up soon
sidewinder : We are expanding Dave. This has been our biggest year for expansion. I've had to put up five new shelves in the last three months. I think it is a good opportunity. The market is bad, I hear other resellers complaining. We are really grateful that the community has supported us these last few years, overall, we have not been impacted much
Eddie3dfx : let me give you some positive feedback.. one of the reasons I kept purchasing from you, was the cheap usps shipping charvges on a small items..$1-3.. Paying $8 for shipping for a few barbs at other vendors is outrageous
ballz0r : glad to hear it Gary
Eddie3dfx : So thank you for being fair and honest in regards to your shipping costs
Fitseries3 : i cant complain... you guys where the only ones that can keep pa120.2s in stock
RedRaider : I second that Eddie.......ahhheemmmm Florida e-tailer....
Kayin : I did get a quote of 6 bucks for a 7 dollar durelene order the other day. I figured it would be cheaper.
sidewinder : Thanks Ed. I mentioned that earlier, our usps rate tables are right out of the usps shipping table. I have to type them in by hand everytime they make a rate change.
Armeniandave : Less demand
Fitseries3 : other places seem to factor in packaging materails into the shipping cost
sidewinder : Kayin if its 1/2 x 5/8, what was the length. Its set for 0.2 lbs per foot, in a box, its about right. If you try and ship more than 13 oz via first class, your rate may get jacked to Zone 8, because you exceeded the first class rate table
Fitseries3 : usps gives you free boxes though
sidewinder : Fits: we do this on UPS ground and UPS 3-day only, it helps us cover our brown boxes, and the fuel surcharge and residential delivery fees that UPS hit us with on 90% of deliveries.
Eddie3dfx : dave, any new designs coming out for the d5?
Kayin : 3/8 1/2
sidewinder : Fits: I want to say the add-on is 0.50 per pound. Depending on the customer's location, those fees really add up on the back end. And yes, USPS has free boxes. We absorb the packaging peanuts, bubble wrap, tape, etc :)
Eddie3dfx : Do you pay any tariffs/import fees for aqua parts?
Kayin : it was 20 feet, though.
Fitseries3 : i bet man. i ship a good bit of stuff every week just from home. i never have enough tape.
sidewinder : Thus far since it has navigated through USPS, we have managed to avoid them. This next order we may have some though, the quantity is much larger
Armeniandave : Great service and quality differenite vendors and keep people coming back
RedRaider : Guys, Gary probably needs to get back to work. I'd like to express my graditude Gary for you taking the time to introduce yourself to our Members. I hope to see you again here soon;)
Kayin : Amen to that.
Eddie3dfx : Well Thank you gary for coming here and chatting. Thanks to Joel for setting this up and the rest of you (kayin check your box)
zlojack : Hi Gary...I made it back in time to say goodbye!
Sniper : Yes very informative chat thx Gary!
