View Full Version : Help me figure out why my temps are so high

oh boy....

computer is....

asus rampage 2 extreme
i7 920
3 gtx260's
3x1gb gskill bkl PI 1600mhz kit
2 WD vrap 300gb's
860watt pc power and cooling
samsung dvdrw dl

cooling hardware...

2 thermochill pa120.3's
iwaki rd30
ek250 res
swiftech GTZ
swiftech NB-MAX
1/2" clearflex 60

aux power for cooling setup...

80watt meanwell 12v psu (rad fans)
240watt meanwell 24v psu (iwaki)
sunbeam rheobus extreme (controls rad fan speed)

problem...

after a few hours(1-3) of benching water temps are 90f+ in ambient 72f.

whats the solution?

90 farenheit its just 32c !!!! not high at all... the i7 are run hot though

yeah but thats the water temp. cpu is 45c idle when water is that high.

You do have your NB and CPU on the same loop. Is your NB first or 2nd in the chain? I'd keep the CPU first at all times, and the two of those should not be overloading two PA 120.3... my single feels like it could handle a GPU on top of this i7 madness.

What kind of thermal grease are you using? AS? I've had a lot of luck with OCZ Freeze. Well to tell you the truth I'm kind of out of ideas. You've got a much more beefy setup than mine but most of it is the same, and we clock it at the same levels. My temps are lower by 10C.
