Never built a Real HTPC Yet ! but here's mine under way
gonna be a Media center that will drive a Sharp 46" LCD , an A/V reciever, dvd,blu-ray,a another 20"lcd ,a 5.1 speaker system with the 4 primary speakers being Kilpsh Cornwalls
(for those who don't know these are old school speakers that are still in production after 30+ years & YES they are that GOOD )
they now sell for over 3 grand EACH
i'll post some pix of them later
soo far the case will be in wood (stained to match the speakers & the rest of the living room
With a metal frame salvaged from an GateWay2000 super tower but laid on it's side hori style
a rad box hidden in the fireplace to reduce the sight of it & reduce the fan noise
the PC parts are YET to be decided
but will include
a 1200watt PC PWR & cooling PSU
a QX9770 cpu
a asus rampage Formula
8 Gb of DDR-2 1200
3 TB of HHD's

as it's got an on board HDMI outlet
a A/V receiver Yet to be chosen
& audio card Yet to be chosen
Need to make sure that both of these will work together
the HTPC will have multi DVD's &
Blu-Ray burners
every thing will be water cooled
but the HHd's & Memory
I will be asking help in choosing the A/V & sound card
