I've found aquatuning to have GTs more commonly than others. I usually check there first if I need more fans.

Bump for this. Only place I have found (and stated above) is aquatuning for $14.81, or this place (http://www.jab-tech.com/Scythe-Gentle-Typhoon-D1225C12B3AP-14-1450rpm-pr-4500.html) that I've never heard of for $15.95. Um, Yeah. Reseller ratings doesn't look too bad for them though - but who knows if any of those are seeded or not. The unspeakable frozen*** also have them 'for sale' @ $15.99.

I need 8, but I'm not paying $25 for each, even if it's from sidewinder (http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/scge120mmsic1.html) or Petra's tech shop (http://www.petrastechshop.com/12scgetyd1ca.html). That's almost 80$ more, that's a water block or a pump right there.

edit: they are $17.95 @ performance PC's (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_49&products_id=24748). I'm aware some of the re-sellers I've listed are on the 'don't mention' list. I'm not recommending any of them. It's a shame all of the shady re-sellers are so damn cheap.

BTW, first post, lurked for months reading the EK supreme HF plating threads, and other PR disaster stories about vendors, etc. Looks like the RRT platted supremes are out of stock at sidewinder and have been for a few weeks :/

Also, there's a REASON why there's a giant "fuck PPC's" thread on this forum.


Simply put, Sidewinder (Gary) and Jab-tech are classy people, whereas PPC (Hank Baron) has a reputation no higher than mud.

From what I understand, It's more about blade balance - I'm not going to be able to apply paint as evenly to the blades than if I just had black plastic to begin with.
Are the blades removable? I don't think they are, so I'll have to try and paint the entire fan or spend hours masking off the fan's frame. The blades are such a complex shape that I doubt I'll be able to apply the paint evenly, which will undoubtedly result in an unbalanced fan blade = vibration & lower life. They have a 10,000MBTF, which I'd like to utilize. Pain in the ass that I don't want to deal with. Pipe dream.
