I got a 20% off any video card coupon from Micro Center.

My initial thought was to get another 6870 and crossfire them, as that is pretty beast for my resolution.

Upon browsing what they have in stock, I realized they don't have any matching cards, and it looks like they don't really have any reference cards either in that model.

Now I'm thinking of possibly picking up a GTX 570 or 580.

What are your subjective opinions on CFX vs single card. I'd like to get a fullcover block for whatever I end up with (or 2 for CFX), so I'm probably screwed if I want to CFX the 6870 and put it under water.

You can still get ref blocks for 6870's,they beat a 6970 easily too when Xfired.
Ref cards are the problem tho,i fell foul of it from false advertising.
