I was just in chat with B-neg and rather than risk it being shut down, I decided to make a thread.

Who here has used both the S1156-i5 and S1155-i5 CPUs?

I was just wondering as I was trying to help a guy on a gaming forum put together a decent gaming machine as cheap as possible. He wanted to spend no more than $850. He had a confid using a Ti-550 and a 2500K. The guy is on a budget, dont upgrade often, so I suggested a much better machine for $1 more. It being an i7-950, 6GB Vengence DDR3-2000, P6X58-E, Corsair TX850, and a EVGA Ti-550 S/C (AR), all for $851.33 at NCIX, and that is before Price Match.

He priced out a 2500K with a P8Z68-V board, I believe 8GB G.Skill-1600 or lower speed, and the same vid card but 'KR', thus no 'Lifetime Warranty'. Oh ya, a PSU had to be included in the $850.

I posted my suggested config and where to get it and some fuck that knows nothing spewed some nonsense. He, after seeing the post I made about the better machine for same price, still pushed the dude to the i5.

This is where tis thread comes in.

In a previous post I had made that he seen, I compared FutureMark's standings of a 2500K and a Core2-Q Q8400, both using the Ti-550 and at stock speeds. 100 points difference. The best score submitted was only a bit over P3100 Yay. My name is Chucky, an' I gonna get me a Sandy Bridge before anyone else. Oh wait, nobody cared.
He went on to say that the S1155 i5 is nothing like the piece of shit S1156 i5.
I replied with a fact they perform the same, if not, the S1156 on top. My fact was a build I posted here, "Granny Riggin" (S1156), that killed the S1155 i5 with less of an overclock and only a GTX460. STFU!

Can anyone else verify this? I do have links for my proof.
