Has anyone used this TIM yet?

http://www.indigo-xtreme.com/

I have been doing some research and the numbers look good compared to AS5
20 bucks for 2 mounts tho .. so before I waste money I wanted some real use feedback.

With the people who endorse it I would say they can shove that overpriced paste up their ass and buy some Shin Etsu.

I've never used it but certainly have seen enough about it.
Yes it's expensive and yes if you follow the prep, installation, and reflow procedure EXACTLY you will have the lowest possible temps. Of course this may only "beat" the next best thing by a degree at BEST...

Just be sure to carefully follow the directions and pay particular attention to the reflow process. If it's not done correctly you will have worse temps and have to re-do it.

the reflow is basically running the chip at load for a period of time is it not?

Yes you set your CPU(s) to stock freq/volts and boot into your OS with no active cooling, i.e. water pumps OFF. Monitoring the CPU diode temps in real time you wait for them to spike (usually close to Tj) then drop, then ramp back up and stay pretty high for a few minutes. As this point the reflow should have occurred and you shut down, plug your pumps back in o/c etc. and check loaded temps with your w/c working normally.

fuck it its only 20 bones.
Going to order it and see what the fuss is about.

I have AS5 on now so I'll do some testing and compare when the Indigo Xtreme arrives

thanks for the comments frost

Yeah it should be a few degrees cooler than as5. Also (aside from reflow) there is no break in period.

Dont bother,it stains your CPU and HS plate and is a pig to get off.

Why even bother for a difference of 4 degrees? Your gonna hit your OC limmit way before you hit any temperature limit anyway:shrug:

Good to see MX-2 is still up there, I bought enough of that stuff to last me a lifetime

you'd swap blocks for 4c drop, so why not tim.

It's not a huge investment so I figure why not. If I get a 4c drop (or better) it will be 20 well spent imo.

That was my biggest concern though after using coolaboratory liquid metal. Outstanding TIM when correctly applied. It "tins" copper very well and the only way to get it clean is sand or lap it. It's a warranty voider for CPUs as there is no way to get it off without altering the numbers on the IHS.

I've seen videos of IE being removed painlessly.
If you change blocks, etc. a lot I definitely would avoid it, like others said a few degrees at best.

I´d never swap my block out for a 4c drop. As it is now, i pritty much dont care to much about performance anymore, since every retailer is within 5c of each others (aprox). I go after the one that i find to be of the best quality, so that i know i wont have to deal with a shitty part:D
As said before, with any normal watercooling system any person inhere would run, you will hit your OC limit way before you hit your temp limit. Especially with the new cpu´s

Only reason i would considder small stuff like this was if i had a I7 920c0 cpu and NEEDED it to run at 4.8 ghz daily lol:D (wasnt it the c0 that ran quite hot?)

thats just it, my 920 is in the basement. When the dryer is on it gets fucking hot.
Want this to crunch and its not possible atm. If 20 bucks will get me in to safe 24/7 temps then its worth it.

As you can clearly see my single core laptop crunching is a fucking joke.

The tim arrived yesterday so I hope to have some side by side numbers tonight or tomorrow compared against AS5,
It wont be to accurate but it will be close enough for me
