( Flowrate )
Looks like the Heat Killer blocks are now reigning high!
But the EK is still king on flow killer....

Now the question is...to remove the centre plate (as recommended in the instructions booklet) for i7 or not?
We need some tests on that. I think Andy was going to run some.

thanks, i wasnt expecting the eclipse to get so good results, sounds even more interesting! between those blocks its the one that looks best IMHO. and they are making a completely black version... FTW!

his flow is less than 1gpm...
1gpm = 227lph

I'm sure the results will even out a bit with more flow, but it's still a very impressive block!

nice results.

Guys, I think you're overestimating the effect of flowrates.
With high heatloads, flow can make a significant difference, but most blocks scale almost identically with increased flow. So you'll get the same ranking order, just at slightly lower temps. Some blocks, like the GTZ or the Supreme scale more noticably with flow and they might get an edge over the competition with higher flow. But don't expect a completely different picture unless were talking about 5 GPM or something like that.

Good point, but even then, maybe 1c tops with most blocks between 1GPM-2GPM.
Bottom line, ubber hi flow rate is not the magic bullet of LC, period.

Agreed.
I'll have some new block-results up shortly. This time, I got flowrates of up to about 1.6 GPM and tested all the way down to .25 GPM.
I guess that's an acceptable range for most, right?

they don't tell you to remove the center plate, they tell you not to place in the center insert. It's a gray rectangular bit of plastic.

Really?
I'll have to check it again because I didn't see that piece of plastic. Does the block come with that already inserted? The one allan key I'm missing from my set is the one that's the size of the HK screws :(

Really really. The one I had from our group buy had one in with the mounting kit. It's so small you could have taken it out and discarded it as trash. If you look into the center of the block and you just see the rectangle grating then it isn't in there. There is a slit in the middle that holds the divider in place. It functions much like the directional nozzle in a dtek fusion v2.

The divider plate should be inserted in blocks for 775 and should already be removed in block for 1366 afaik.

Tell ya what,
If that Alphacool Yellowstone was a nice deep cobalt blue instead red, I'd be all over that puppy. I'm just a sucker for the German blocks now.

They plan to release the mounting plate in 4 or 5 different colors soon. I had a conversion with Kaner Demirci from Alphacool some days ago :)
