View Full Version : FITS Acrylic Dtek Fusion Tops

IDK if this is in the right catagory but it is new and its a product.

i made these a few months ago but sold them all.

since then i have had TONS of people requesting that i keep making them.

IF i get a good response here then i will make another batch.

they are a bit pricey but the material costs a bit ... so no complaining please.

you WILL need either a quick-mount, pro-mount, or the new v2 universal bracket.

these will work on both the v1 and v2 fusion. i include new screws that are a tad larger than the stock dtek ones. this helps with strength in holding the top tight on the base while not being weak to cause cracking in the acrylic.

this is the 4th revision or the top. this version has quite a bit of flow compared to the stock fuzion top. i have also made it possible to use the red nozzle kit if you choose to.

any other questions just ask.

Excellent work...

This might go closer to DIY, but I'm thinking about an area where people who get it right can flaunt their wares. You, sir, have gotten it right.

Definitely a new product! I can't wait till you make the new batch dude! I will for sure be getting one of these for my V2! Love the look of them for sure!

I've heard people ask you before about making an Acetal top run? Any thoughts on going through with that? Either way I'll get one of each if you are lol.

+1 on a acetal run. If this improve a bit over the stock top, it would be a nice pick. I have both v1 and v2 myself ;)

if you guys cal locate some acetal cheap i'll do a small run of them.

if i can get at least 12 people that want each acetal/acrylic then i'll do another small batch.

if i can get 24+ people for both then the price will start to drop.

I think it depends on what price we the Acetal is mostly. If we can find the best price on it then better for us.

someone price a 12" x 12" x 1" sheet of acetal and i can let you know. i'll look here in a minute.

as for the acrylic ones... they sell for $45 shipped in the US. i can lower the price if more than 24 sell.

Funny thing is, it's just a DDC-2 with Petra's Top. I haven't done anything else to the pump.... i dunno....

I think it had to do with the 3.5 nozzle i was using at the time..... swapped to the 4.5 and haven't had the problem since.

The 3.5mm nozzle is a pressure pig. The back pressure you get is extremely surprising. I was completely unaware of the repercussions you experienced though.

OH yeah man, the backpressure was insane. I might still have the original washer around here somewhere, if I find it i'll be sure to post it. The backpressure from that thing screwed with alot of stuff. The insides of my block weren't physically hurt.... but i dunno without pics i can't really explain what I saw.... sorry.

Technically, it should perform very close to the v2 top and a bit better than the v1 (it fix the leaking middle chamber). The main difference is that the stock tops have 4 holes in the corners for water to escape while this custom top have space all around, which improve exit flow.

I will ask fitseries to send my delrin top to skinnee for testing so we can have the performance numbers on hand :)

Just to be clear, what we will be using is only the copper base and the mount of the Fuzion. V1/V2 share the same pro mount and base so it's ok. Only the delrin top differ for both.

Actually, according to Martin M's testing, there just slightly different:
http://img360.imageshack.us/img360/6076/picture23kl7.png

This is one of the reasons why the fuzion V2 is slightly better than the V1...
BUT, for these tops, I doubt anyone will notice a difference between the V1 base and the V2 base.

I have a question.....
Why would one have 2 outlet's?

Now allow me to attempt an answer to my own question lol.....
Too cool 2 other chipsets without "stacking" the heat. One outlet to cool NB, the second to a GPU for example, then converge with a Y to a Res or to 2 inlets on a Multi optoin Res.

How'd I do?

Sniper
01-05-2009, 11:46 AM
No it has to do with flow inside the block itself. It hits in the center so to eliminate swirling better you have 2 outlets so it goes right up those 2 rather than trapped swirling inside the block basically. Least that's my interpretation on it.

Thanks for setting me straight Sniper...
So I was barking up the wrong tree then. I wonder what the temp diff would be.

Fitseries3
01-05-2009, 12:24 PM
nah..... your idea is actually pretty good. you'd just need a lot of flow from the pump

razar
01-05-2009, 12:45 PM
ya know.....I think I'll go for that dual outlet as well if it's an option.
So for me... Polished Acrylic with dual outlets please. :)

Xilikon
01-05-2009, 01:00 PM
I think having dual outlets might kill the performance. The swirling motion might be more beneficial to pick more heat IMHO ;)

still trying to figure the delrin out. as soon as i know how much material im getting i can let you guys know how many i'll have to sell. seeing how i only have interest for about 5-6 delrin tops thats probably all that will be made for now. :)
Did you count me in on that?

Is there enough interest to make them? I'll get an acrylic rather than nothing, but I'd prefer delrin.

they will be made but at this time i cant say how many so im not going to take money on them until i know.

So far, I see 4-5 people (me included) interested in a delrin version. I will await patiently until a preorder is offered :mod:

Fitseries3

its not the lack of interest... its the cost of material. delrin is hard to find as cheap as acrylic so it costs a tad more. if i was buying truckloads of it the price would all be the same and would be cheap.

I'd hate to see you not recoup your costs on them.

I'm willing to shell out a few more $ for what I want if that helps you any. After all, I'm already committed for at least $50 for something that's not a strict "need" :)

BTW, Fitseries3, you have anything else you're using that machine for? I'd love to get something else to match...

we are running a bit behind schedule but things are progressing along now.

beleive it or not... that sheet will make about 55 tops.

these will be a little more low profile than the last batch. thats a good thing though :)

OT: are you still using 1/2" of 6-32? for the screws?

Fitseries3
01-25-2009, 09:29 PM
i happend to get some 6-32 3/8" brass screws that look alot more appealing. another reason for going with these screws is the head is smaller and fits better than the screws i sent with the first batch. i still may change to a different screw head but these seem to do well.
