Well i got my game informer magazine and it had this big article on Darksiders 2. Never heard of the game. Looked around and it seemed something i would enjoy. picked up the 1st Darksiders on steam for 20 bucks.

it downloaded, installed, goes thru a THQ screen and a vigil games screen...than it just sits there on a black screen. WTF. quite pissed atm. trying to figure this bullshit out.
fuck you steam.

Do you have the latest DirectX and Visual C runtimes?

Also, did you verify the game's cache? I've had a lot of games not work right off the bat, and it turned out I was missing a file or one was corrupt.

Also, try this:

Common Black Screen Fix
Open your game folder (default is Program Files)
Go under \media\videos
Delete AMD_Logo_movie.wmv
That should help most users get their game started. Additionally, you could encounter a black/blank screen in Darksiders if the game’s resolution was set to one that your monitor does not support. In that case, you need to delete another file.

Rarer Black Screen Fix
Open your games app data folder
Win XP: C:\Documents and Settings\*YOURNAME*\Local Settings\Application Data\Darksiders
Win 7/Vista: C:\*YOURNAME*\AppData\Local\Darksiders
Delete options.dopt

It's a pretty good "dungeon crawler" lends itself nicely to Zelda fans. A lot of parallels between the two. I got free with a videocard, worth the $20 purchase IMO.
