Thought this might be handy for people trying to find the right DVI cable for their computer/home video/GFX cards.

Heres a an image showing the difference between the different DVI connectors.

Apple uses DVI-D Dual link on their Mini Display Port to DVI adaptor.

90% of gpu's nowadays use dual link because it has the ability to fit any cable or its universal.

Yeah but unfortunately I came across a case where Wacom 21UX displays use DVI-I dual link female and my mac adaptor was DVI-D dual link male...

Good info.
All I use is dual link DVI now. I feel sorry for people still stuck on VGA connections.

Heck im even thinking about going HDMI with everything but I dont like using those DVI-HDMI connectors.

Why not get a DVI to HDMI cable? That's what I've got running from computer -> TV and it pushes sound through just the same as if I were using a regular HDMI cable.

Because I have a ton of DVI cables and they work just fine. That and I have NO need to push audio through HDMI.
If I wanted to id have to install the SPDIF cable on the GPU.
