So, I found this funny...
$16,000 for this piece of junk.
Rubidium's is so much nicer. And, will probably last longer than this..

Well, the single GPU is no biggy if he's only crunching...
But doesn't FUFUFUFUFUFUFUFU use the stock DDC pump? and if so, I can't believe they only have ONE for that entire system.... If any system called for one pump, it should have been an iwaki...

The WOOD for Mithril alone has an open market value of 3k+.
All my expenses, and I still have AC blocks for my shit-and more than one pump/rad.
cheapskate

Custom paint? no.
Custom parts? no.
no cable tidying, no stealthing the radiator... They just slapped it on the side!
for 16K I could buy a CNC and the materials for some unreal case parts, and still have enough to use the same guts. (minus the Widow's Home Surfer.;P)

What? Only 32GB and a 8800GTS for 16-large?
It looks like they started out with a ready-made Tyan barebones server system, and began the butchery from there. Why else would there be heatsinks in the background freshly pulled off the processors? I wonder if they cleaned off the TIM residue before mounting the waterblocks? And that side-mounted rad box completely looks like ass. :moon: The rig should come with a cyanide pill for the buyer as an accessory.
On a serious note, they're using the same n6550EX (S4989) board that I started with and what was the latest available late last fall when I started the build. Due to a lucky break, my RMA action is returning the n6650EX (S4992) to me on Monday, which is the version just introduced two weeks ago with upgrades to Hypertransport 3.0 and PCIe 2.0. So I really am set up to have my rig last longer than this.

Wow, I never thought I'd get the type of "outbursts" from the good folks around here... hehe Admittedly, I agree with all of you in that it looks like crap, and each one of us could do a better job....
One of the comments after the article pointed out that the rad, and the mobo and stuff were on one side of the case, and wondered if it would "tip" over easy. Another pointed out, their reservoir is at the bottom of the loop.
For a "high end" shop they sure didn't do their homework. I'd go so far as to say, "I" could do a better jon than this, for less, and I haven't even completed a system yet.
I think the MAX PCs dream machine was cheaper than this, and it at least had a kick ass chrome finish....

Besides the watercooling, I like the general hardware.

I have a version of that case at home, and I like the base hardware. I may just build one myself.

I fail to see how this is worth $16,000 however.

Ricey, if you want to get into this, get the new S4992.
