OK, so I had a (hopefully) bright idea concerning my GPU setup in Mithril...
The GPUs are on a siamesed reservoir, total capacity is over 1 gallon. The proposed tubing routing setup is res-pump-rad-GPU-res, so as to get the coolest water available.
What this gives me is a "hot" reservoir, as 2 4870x2s is a significant heat dump, and with OCing and vmodding that's a lot of extra heat. While an MCR320 per card is a lot of cooling, I had the idea for a "recirculator" loop, consisting of a pump and a BIX 120 I have lying around, that would simply function to cool down the reservoir and lower overall system temps.
It would simply be a second set of holes drilled in my reservoir, with a second set of 3/8" barbs (or 1/2", I have a lot of those lying around,) a pump and the rad, no blocks in loop. By placing it above the pickup holes, falling cool water would be picked up by the pumps, adding to the cooling overall.
Am I nuts, or do I have some kind of idea?
