Agreed, MEH, nothing special here, same as the insides. Nothing new :)

C'mon guys, give em some credit.
They went for a different kind of look and it's quite good, IMO.

Hopefully, we'll see some tests soon.

Yes, i am holding my full judgement to tests, and more pics, but as it stands like, i will stick with me Supreme and Supreme LT :crack:

Methinks this block will be a great contender with i7!!

Really? I was a bit disapointed to see the age-old alphacool bottomplate:

http://www.abload.de/img/3171e4.jpg

Do you guys think the bead-blasting the base-plate is an actual advantage? I mean, I can see how it theoretically increases surface area, but would it be significant?

Kayin

Bead blasting can up to triple the surface area, as well as minimize the boundary layer.

RedRaider
02-25-2009, 06:27 PM
They didn't change the base plate?

IMO, this block is garbage then...:shake:

That baseplate is hanging with the new blocks pretty well. I'd be surprised if there weren't any gains from the new midplate, as well...

the base plate has some potential, I have a block with a modified base plate it performs pretty well, but that said I dont have a mid-plate either ;) the mid plate is where the block fails IMO

news of the day: the alphacool guys informed me, that they´re planning to release the top in 3 and the mounting plate in 5 different colors, nice eh ? :)

RedRaider
03-02-2009, 09:40 AM
That's nice and all, but they should redesign the internals then I might consider giving my money for this block...:igotit:

bundymania
03-02-2009, 10:20 AM
well, no need to redesign, as you can see the complete new top design do the job for a top 3 ranking :)

You don't even see the frikking internals when using the block red. :bird: :D

I think he means the pin array? I see that sort of thing represented in my temps :p
