Since I know what Watercool-fanboys you guys are, I thought I'd bring your attention to this new block in their lineup:

Looks like they have used much thinner copper and presumably the channelling is machined into the delrin which would make it much lighter than say the DD option of 3.56lb (1.61 kg)

Any idea of the weight HESmelaugh??

I wonder if they used the similar fin style over the gpus like their other FC blocks...

No word on the weight, unfortunately.

But here's some additional info from Watercool's official description:

- Paralell flow to both cooling surfaces (should be good for flowrates).
- Four G1/4" threads (good for different tube-routing possibilities).
- Optional spacers included so you don't bend the crap out of your cards when overtightening a screw.
- Due to be available from the 3.3.09 for 130€

cool item!

HES, do you have a shootout of different 295 blocks in the making? hehehe...

Yeah, I wish, septim...

As a matter of fact, I have asked a few manufacturers if they would like to contribute their 295 blocks for such a shootout. I don't know if it will happen, but there's a chance. :D

On the other hand, I already have a ton of other samples here that I need to work my way through...
The problem is that I had a real drought of samples up until recently, so I was frantically asking everyone for samples so I'd have something to do again. Now suddenly, I'm getting lots of samples all at once.
Then again, I guess there are worse problems one can have.

well, you can start one thing at a time, at you're own pace since you already have some samples that you'd test. you know we all are eagerly awaiting results and numbers.

Don't worry, I'll provide plenty of numbers and results in time. :D

By the way: Does anyone else think that the "slapping two cards together" approach is kind of a bummer because then the waterblocks are hidden away between the PCB?
Granted, unless you have a BTX-case you'll only see the PCB of your cards anyway... :-/

It does suck, means that you can't see all that beautiful engineering.

yep, there is that factor... no need to nickle plate these kinds of blocks...

maybe the price will be more affordable.

Hmmm... that pic is quite convincing, I must admit. ^^

Just my opinion but i think the double cards are the way to go as you get two hits from one block.

Imaging running four cards with four separate blocks, i doubt you would see much of the blocks anyway so may as well make what we can see look the best it can

I do agree that a nice cover would make things look better the way BlueAqua did with his GX2's

The EVGA backplate isn't bad looking and supposedly can help with temps.
