Might be a decent card, but the block by Swiftech just kills my desire for it.

If EVGA had gotten AquaComputer to make blocks for them I'd be all over that shit...

Wow, nice looking card. I am interested in a couple. They sure look a lot nicer than previous versions. I hope the performance came thru this time. I read the previous generations didnt perform all that well.

Hurry up!. Someone with too much money buy 1 or 2 and tell us all about it. $200 for a Swiftech block seems a little high though. I am with ablat.

Yeah..if you consider it's a card clocked at 850Mhz GPU Clock Speed/
4196Mhz Memory Clock Speed, it would be 180.00 over their lesser clocked non LC SC card.

That along with the no hassle RMA being covered under warranty for a LC card, not that bad really. Performance wise, you'd get the same OC capabilities as with any block I imagine. Unlike the previous versions, no heat pipe bullshit on this card.

I'd be tempted if I didn't have two already waiting for AC blocks. If they had these during the intial launch, I would have most likely gotten the EVGA/ST version just for simplicity, and the potential binned chip if in fact these cards have one.

Doesn't EVGA cover installation of waterblocks on their stuff as long as the original cooling solution is put back into place before RMA? I've heard many good things about EVGA with regards to their RMA and other support process. I am curious to see if they have a binned chip though...

Yes they cover the installation of a water block as long as there is no physical damage done to the card and if there is an rma you will need to re install the air cooler. This is why sidewinder is able to sell water blocked cards and motherboards with the stock warranty. All they require is the receipt, registration, original cooling solution and packaging. I am looking forward to ordering 2 of the GTX580's from sidewinder next month or as soon as he has them in stock. I cant see them being much more in cost than the EVGA GeForce GTX 580 FTW Hydro Copper 2 offering and most likely run a little cooler and allow for higher clocks.

That's what I was thinking.

Would it better to get the hydro and then put on your own block, or get the SC version and put on your own block? The hydro version is already clocked higher...

Just do what a friend of mine does LOL!
He goes to the local MC and buys all their stock, cherry picks the best pair and sells off the rest.

Use Nibitor to mod the BIOS to support higher GPU/Mem clocks and installs blocks of choice. Win/Win in my book.

Currently I'm sitting next to a box with a pair of Hydro 590s and while the (blocks) might not be the most attractive looking...they are hard to get above mid 40s while folding I shit you not!

I love my EVGA GTX 580 H2O. :)

Gotta love the evga led, already has backplate. My idle temp range from 26-30 during idle. and nothing goes over 45-48 when gaming. But if were to add my own block, i would definitely go with heatkiller.

You don't have to have them working together on active graphics for them to all be working. That's why I said 7 with AC's blocks and their one-piece 7-block adapter. That would also get rid of the problems KaptCrunch notes with plumbing....

I got 2 gtx 480s with the Swiftech blocks,I didn't know then what I know now regarding
Swiftech.I'll be calling EVGA regarding the warranty coverage in so far as the blocks go.
I haven't heard of any issues yet with the Swiftech blocks and am hoping for the best.
The cards run nice & cool.
Cheers
