Photo blog of the sleeving process go here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/sets/72157604935351222/)

I'll sleeve the pumps when the case comes in, don't know how long the cables need to be. I sleeved the fans, because they will be attached with a jumper cable that I will make to size. That way, I can remove the rad's without tearing everything apart.

Want more pics, eh?

Here's another mod I'm doing...

Just a plain ole usb hub, huh? | Look again, I'm turning it into an internal POWERED usb hub. | Side view, power, usb interface
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3202/2477177465_f439298e5c_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2477177465/)http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2356/2477989394_3c7eb25b2f_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2477989394/)http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2187/2477177495_b97bdefd29_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2477177495/)

With all the usb items I'm installing, all of my headers would be used up, and I'd have to run craptastic cables outside of the case to plug into the outside usb hubs. Well, not anymore. I looked, and looked. and finally said to h___ with it, and made my own. It's easy, really. Just desolder the connector, and solder in a 4 pin header. As your looking at it, the pin on the left (#1) is your red pin. Middle set I got to hot, and cooked one of the eyelets off. My butane soldering iron gets too hot for tiny work. Waiting on my soldering station to be delivered. 2 should be enough, if not, I'll do a couple on the other side.

Modded the cable to plug into the internal headers. | Modded the power to work off a molex. (most usb hubs run off of 5v) | Now, every modder needs one of these.

Filled with all sorts of goodness. | Now, all that would be useless, without some of these. | And one of these.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2034/2477177443_247b85a33e_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2477177443/)http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2086/2477989206_48f9aae4a6_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2477989206/)http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3050/2477989234_1b6151c513_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2477989234/)

Quick update

I'm planning on monitoring the water temp using these. Yes, it's from FUFUFUFUFUFUFUFU, but it's nickel plated copper. And I like the fact that it doesn't impede flow, like the BP one does.

Ok, mini update.. Started putting it together, And this is what I've come up with so far..

I went and put rivet nuts into the wheels, didn't want the nuts just to fall out. The rivet nuts fit perfectly in the holes that were there already. didn't have to drill them out.

Here's the MB hardware.

Well, I haven't painted it yet. But here is my cable tray. This is going under the motherboard for misc cables to lay on, so that all you see is the cable coming out, and plugging into the motherboard. Virtual Rain style.

Next up will be cutting holes for the wires to go the hard drives, painting, and putting grommets around all the edges.

Made the holes for the grommets. Man, nothing makes a nicer, quicker hole than a hole punch.

Next I will tackle making a faceplate for the Aquaero, mounting the FanAmps, and Laing Controllers. (still waiting on a controller, Shoggy)

Then I can finish sleeving the fans.

Yeah, yeah.. :)

Ok, Didn't get many updates today, because last night I decided to flip the front panel. Decided that there wouldn't be any decent way to drain the loops with the rads on the bottom, and the barbs on the top. This will ad a couple of 90* turns, but that's better than having to pull hoses every time I need to drain the loop.

Well here's how it looks with the drive bays on the bottom.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3044/2631902455_48deee7291_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2631902455/)http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3058/2632726968_69303b6c26_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2632726968/)

I cut the holes for the drain plugs. (DD Delrin) Lower right and left sides of the case. Have a look.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3083/2632726078_093876aaf8_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2632726078/)http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3151/2632725290_5467755eac_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2632725290/)http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3011/2631901245_874743edee_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2631901245/)

Man, those hole punches really come in handy. Perfect circles, and about 5 mins each.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3046/2631900203_96d7c5606c_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2631900203/)http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3160/2632724884_f966888146_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2632724884/)http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3276/2632725688_347d6b7c71_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigdaddy501/2632725688/)

Ok, so don't flame me.. This is what I came up with to add the temp sensor, and drain valve into each loop.

It consists of a <cough>FUFUFUFUFUFUFUFU<cough> n/p brass 5 way splitter, temp probe, 90* swivel, and a DD Delrin 90*. Also, to turn off the drain there is a Mcmaster's shut off valve. I've changed the handle so that when it's inline, it's actually closed.

If there is a better way, please tell me.. Here are some pics.

The drain will feed off of the barb on the shutoff valve, into the delrin drain port.

Ok, good news, and bad news.. I got my loop completed. Vid loop was a breeze. Took 5 mins to bleed. CPU loop took a little longer. almost 24 hours. Finally said heck with it, capped the res, and turned the case almost all the way over while the pump was running. Air bubbles didn't stand a chance...

Now, the bad news. One of my new power supplies died. So I've got everything running on one power supply. The cables look a little messy, because I had to pull them, and move em to the other power supply.

Here are some pics.

Now, for some temps...

Ambient temp 22
CPU Idle - 33-37 Load - 52-57 (prime 95 for over an hour)

I think I need to lap the cpu to get the temps a little closer. But on air, I was getting 40 idle, and 85 load.. so I'm happy with that...

So I'm wondering about the aquaero.
If I wanted to run all my fans, three DDC pumps, temps, flow rate, and/or the pumps RPM, and have it all controlled according to temps, what else do I need?
Best I can figure is, two fan amps and the aquearo itself.

Help me.... I've been trying to figure this out for awhile now.

R3 I know you switched over to the Mcubed stuff, but not really interested do to lack of support. Also, seem like they both do the same thing in different ways.

Super Fan controllers.... FTW.....

I wish I could answer that for ya.. I tried, and tried to get the Aquaero to work with the Fan Amps. I finally gave up. You'll need at least 2 Aquaero's for the fans, use the Laing Controllers, etc.. Aquaero makes some nice stuff, but for little cases.. Nothing big and macho.

holy smokes, there's a lot of stuff to digest in this build.

very nice!

that cable tray is awesome - I imagine you have some kind of bending machine to get those nice clean edges?

Big_Daddy

couple pieces of 1x2.. :)

Clamp (I used my hands) the boards around the piece you want to bend, then press real hard against your work bench, rotating up.

Plus that perf ALU isn't hard to bend at all.

I'm loving the build and attention to detail. I'm jealous of the aquero :)
Hopefully sidewinder will have them in soon. Also, what are the toggles on the front plate for, cmos clear?

Big_Daddy

white CCFL's and UV LED's.. And the aquaero, I actually sold it. It wouldn't run the fans that I wanted. You can only put 2 yl-H on it before you run the risk of burning out a channel. And I couldn't get the fanamps to work with the Aquaero.

Right now, I'm running Sunbeam Rheobus Extreme. Not auto, but damn nice.

maybe you'd also like to try those Lamptron Rheobus that Sidewinder's has in stock... suppose to be better than the extreme...

I have been looking for this tool since you first posted your log on XS and I still can't find it. Can you sell me yours?:D I have a big wiring job coming up and this tool would make life so much easier.

edit: We need to do a group buy for a bunch of these b/c I know I'm not the only one who wants one. As a matter of fact I say all forum members with a minimum of 147 posts get one free from Red.:)

Just ask at your local electronics store for a wire stripper. Example http://www.frys.com/product/1563227;jsessionid=HozIw7jc8nvfOOvoQkylzw**.node3? site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Edit: Sorry for the thread derail by the way.

I bought mine at Harbour Freight for $2.99 + 8.25% tax...:D

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=66690

It's not like you need some Heavy Duty +$20 wire stripper for the little bit of home use we put it through...;)

You're right. As long as it will allow me to take the sheath of off the wiring, without cutting it (as in the pic above}, its all good. I have nine fans to string together and this tool will come in handy.

edit: Thanks for the link Red. Camarillo is just over the hill and all of 2-3 minutes away! Good call!
