Was browsing Sidewinders a minute ago... this caught my eye:

Meanwell 320W...
Was thinking I could have this and a Corsair 1000W for my build, meanwell being for all 14 of my fans, and the two D5 vario pumps. And the Corsair being for all the maine hardware of the comp.

Fan specs:

Rated Voltage: 12V
Starting Voltage: 9V
Rated Current: 0.30A
Power Input: 3.6W

What do you guys think? Overkill or worth it?

I'm doing something similar with my upcoming build.

I'm using a couple MeanWell S-240-12 12V PSU's to run the pumps and fans.

If it hasn't already been made clear... I think it's a great idea - and you should so ahead with it.

Good to hear, I kinda liked the idea of an extra PSU...

But, now I'm wondering, how much stress will it take off the main PSU if I have a meanwell for fans and pumps?

I mean, with this setup

i7 920
6gb ram (12gb eventually)
2x gtx260 SLI
2-3 500GB 7200.11rpm drives
1 optical drive
fan controller

It can't hurt, but you dont want to remove too much load - PSU's run optimally at certain percentages.

I'd suggest trying to find a graph detailing that percentage for your PSU - then make that your target.

Sweet, sounds like a good idea. I'll look into this. :)
