When is Intel planning on releasing this CPU?

The 970 has been around for some time now.

About £50 cheaper than the extreme version so not much point as far as I can work out.

Didn't realize they had released it this summer.

I have been too busy.

$899.99 on Amazon and n00bEgg :wth:

:bird: price gouging Intel

Who in the fuck would consider buying this CPU, when it's only $100 cheaper than the 980X w/unlocked multiplier??

My thoughts exactly.

IF it had been priced at 5-600 USD, I probably would have justified it; at 900 it isn't worth it compared to the EE, and the EE is 1k; I've got better shit to spend 1k on -- like guns.

Like I said, at 500, or maybe even 600 USD, it might have been an OK buy, but at 900 the only people to buy it will be retards.

Maybe the 970 will go down in price when the new Gulftown No Extreme get to the street. Probably getting release together with the 990X... according to the net.
