black impeller is 3.1, can be easily modded to 3.2 (same as blue impeller) by creating a solder bridge between two points.

what about other colours?

DDC-1 Impellers are Orange
DDC-2 Impellers are Black
DDC-3.2/3.1 are Blue
DDC-1's suck
DDC-2's are fucking powerful as hell, but not reliable
DDC-3.2 w/ top is a little more powerful than a D5

Martin says that the DDC-2's were also orange for a little while. IIRC most orange impeller DDC's were the DDC-1's.
Look here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=178575&highlight=DDC+Impeller&page=2) about mid page to see what i'm talking about.

oh i see it now...
a few more questions (i'm a laing noob... always used sanso)
Is DCC-2>DCC-3.2?
DCC-2=MCP355? or DCC-2=MCP350?
DCC-2 is always 18W?
the guy i'm gonna buy from says its 10W, but it has the black impeller . He says the PCB is version 3.

DDC-2>DDC-3.2 - That is correct. The DDC-2 is far more powerful than the DDC-3.2. Two DDC-2's in series equal an Iwaki-RD30. The DDC-2 is extremely unreliable though.
This is from Exa over at XS.
How to spot the difference between 10w and 18w:
10w got a black impeller and 18w got an orange impeller
There is also some holes in the impeller of the 18w but if you spotted those youve already noticed the orange color of it http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif
Here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=118650) is some more information if you wana read through it.
EDIT: If it were me, I would stay away from them unless you're just looking for something to play with. There is a reason he is selling them so cheap, those pumps are known for their issues and deaths. DDC-2's have caused quite a few problems over the years, which is why they don't make them any more.

endless thanks. someone should warn Petra not to call the DCC-2 "the same as DCC-3.2/MCP355" then :(
i could go with an aquaextremeXT then. I'm starting to love those

Where does Petra call them the same? I don't see it on this site, he's pretty knowledgeable about these pumps, he knows the difference.

I actually got the last of the DDC-2s about a year ago and they have orange impellers. You cannot get the DDC-2 anymore. Only 3.2 (Blue) and 3.1.
All 355s will be 3.2 (Blue)

It does tell it's the same as the MCP355 but this doesn't mean that DDC2 and DDC3.2 is the same. The MCP355 can have either version as well but all they sell today is the DDC3.2 version.
Anyway, the MCP355, DangerDen, etc. are all relabeled Laing DDC pumps.

oh. i thought that as they have a item labeled "MCP355/LAING DCC-3.2"
they were always the same. thanks for the clarification for this watercooling noob. To repay for this, a project is gonna come soon! :p

No problem, the Laing DDC naming is a bit confusing at first but when you know the history and what each manufacturer relabel, it become all clear.
It's like having a Toyota Corolla having various generations but keeping the same name. If we talk of today's Corolla, we assume it's a 2009 model year but it's possible to have a 2008 or even 2007 which have a different base.

how to make your ddc-2 18watts last forever? just power them up 24/7 and minimize power interruption with a good PSU and UPS...
most dead ddc-2 reports are those from people who don't run their PC 24/7, frequent cycle on and off of the pump = more chance of the startup power spike frying said pump...
i have 2 ddc-2 orange, one continuous running for 13months the impeller color some orange white blueish tint... and probably the last ddc-2 orange impeller bought just a few days before the ddc3.2 made its appearance...
both still running good...
