So I got GG running on my dual GTX295s on Skulltrail under Linux last night, and I cracked the top 15 for the day in like a couple hours! :moon: :)

Anyways, all those XS mutha fukkers that show up on that page need to move down a few notches. Right now it looks like all I got is scraps and Crazy for help. What happened to all you other bitches?

Time to :htfu: and show RRTech can kick some XS ass :bird: I think we could easily put 5 or 6 in the top 20 for the day.

Anyways, I know GG isn't as popular as WCG, but just figured I'd try to drum up some renewed interest in it. 0xygenthief, I'll even let you pass me if you work on that pathetic 11K score

my driver keeps crashing about 75% trough Wu's I have no idea why, the gpu runs fine with ANY game or bench thrown at it, but after 75% it just crashes and fucks the wu every time

i just re attached maybe the 258 drivers will keep it from crashing. the 192 GTX260's have some problems with gpu grid I guess sometimes they work sometimes not. thats my problem

Man, that's some shit, sorry to hear

After jumping through a bunch of hoops to actually get the Nvidia Linux driver loaded on mine, it seems pretty stable. I think they are 256.35 drivers for x86-64.

It sure stresses the hell out of those 295s. All four GPUs are running at like 80C even with two 100CFM 120mm fans directed right at them :crack: I'd never try running it if it wasn't at work in a constantly AC'ed lab. lol

I think have 5 more GTX280s in my basement laying around I should look at getting back running for GG

Good looks Ketzer, 90K in one day, good on you, 2 295's is not a fucking joke man. Wtf though, 2 295's and 5 280's, and you just joined, wtf took so long. Get those 280's going too. Shit dood I took top place with 9800's and 260's, your 295's woulda crushed me a long time ago, now I only got a 470 and a single 9800 running, so its not hard to catch up, and I don't spend as much cash. Those 280's arn't a joke either get em running

yep my 260 just crashed again 52% into the wu. it states on the gpu-grid site the 192 GTX260's may encounter problems like mine is. ughhhh!! wish I had a damn better gpu for fucks sake. i had my 216 crunching away it was fine but I had to shoose to sel one or the other and the 192 has voltage control better vrms etc etc soooooo I chose this one. if I had a 280/275/285/295 or whatever I would be spitting out wu's all day long

Tell me about it. :fight17: I really don't know why I didn't before now, I've just had the stupid damn things lying around for ages it seems. So I already got a new dedicated GG system planned in my head for those 280s. Gonna take the old original EVGA X58 SLI I've never used (sorry Eightlug :p), pick up an i7-930 tomorrow at MicroCenter, and slap 3 of those 280s on it and pop it into the FT02 case I haven't used. It'll just be crunching 24/7 next to the Skulltrail in the lab at work.

Beyond that, I've got that flaky 285 I'm gonna try reviving by picking up an EK block for it also at MicroCenter tomorrow (a whole 40 bucks for an EK nickel+acetal FC block for the 285v1 that is normally like $120+!!!). Thinking of putting that on my X58 Classy with an i7-975, and then have all of those under water in a TJ07 I got for it. Was planning on using it for a new work desktop that doubles as a cruncher. I can toss in another of those left over 280s as added GG horsepower.

Guess what else I discovered down in the basement before I came back online? lol 2x 9800GX2 vid cards sitting in the same box with the 280s that I completely forgot about. There's another 4 GPUs I'll have to come up with another rig to get running now.

I tell ya GG is my new :crack: :crack::crack: :coke: :missle:

OC, if that fukking POS is giving you that much trouble, hell, I'll just send you one of these 5 280s I'm not even using. Shit, it's not even really worth charging for it because I don't think anyone else would want them. I'll tell you what, if you're willing to pay the shipping up to you, which shouldn't be much from NH -> VT, and put it to use on GG, it's yours. :) Send me a PM if you're interested and we'll work something out regardless.

If you're running WCG already, GPUGrid is just another project off of BOINC, but it runs only on Nvidia CPUs via CUDA. So the only requirements are to be running the BOINC client and have a Nvidia GPU capable of running CUDA apps (which is basically like every GPU since the 8800 I think). You can check if you are already ready to run GPUGrid by looking at your BOINC client's log messages. You should see lines about detecting your GPUs and that they are usable. Check out www.gpugrid.net for more info.
