OK boys, after years of building I'm going to admit a persistent dissatisfaction with every project: my wiring. I'm simply sick and tired of the same old cheesy, run-of-the-mill, little-boys-league, shit materials I end up getting stuck with. :mad1:
I'm committed to having it stop now. :fight12:
So here's the question: What is the absolute final word on sleeving and heat shrink tubing? I want the highest quality - period. I don't give a shit what it costs - period. Cut to the chase and tell me what Boeing would feel is worthy of putting in the F/A-18.

I recently bought (2) MurderMods PSYCHOPAKS, it is simply in a league of it's own. Well worth the price of admission.:2up:
I also have 300' of sleeving from CableOrganizer, it's of inferior quality. The wires show through the sleeving. I have 1/8", 1/4", 3/8" and 1-1/4".

You have 300 foot of sleeving??!? For what?? You gonna sleeve yourself up and walk around the house with it all tucked in, kinda like Silence of the Lambs?

Forget all that crap...
Nylon Multifilament Sleeving made to milspec. If it's not good enough for tanks, it's not good enough for my PC.

I have 200' rolls of about 8 different sizes. Great stuff.

go with the MDPC-X pak tbh, the stuff they use in aircraft is insanely expensive and doesnt look that great anyway, its more for heat/friction/rubbing protection, not so much for looks, and can you honestly say you need that in your PC?

I think it looks fantastic, and yes... I do need it, and I AM using it.

I use it on wires as well but I don't have any appropriate heatshrink to go with it.

your PC looks Mil-Spec Langer  no wonder you need it, nah that looks really good ;)
Most of the stuff I have seen in aircraft doesn't look half as good as that, but its functional. I think I might order 1000' of each size :)

Thanks for all the replies guys.:topofmorn:
I have to admit that I have always leaned toward the soft, supple, woven cloth-like look, so long as it's not a dull, frayed-cloth look that you often see in many industrial venues.
Langer, what are you using for heat-shrink? What is the shrink ratio? Does it need to be the type lined with adhesive to best grip the sleeving you have?

The type lined with adhesive would be best but any old heatshrink will do.
The only heatshrink I have at the moment is 4:1 stuff, making it way to thick to be aesthetically pleasing. That's my only problem.
I got my heatshrink from www.cableorganizer.com, but I ordered the wrong flavor.
