I'm looking at making Mithril a testbed, due to the unique 4-loop nature of its design, what other toys do I need short of actually having a CPU block (no I still can't make/find one that works...)?

CrystalFontz and Dallas Temperature Sensors to begin with, that way you have the ability to log your temps.

And I'm guessing T fittings to drop those in...

I wonder where i would put a CrystalFontz display in that machine...

You could leave it loose, just for testing.

Yes, T's are a must. Maybe some pimpin' BitsPower Shiny Nickle-Plated goodness...:king:

Rubidium has done some simple jaw-dropping modding to get the sensors to work.:slobber:

Do you want flow and pressure results as well?

Should I for waterblock reviewing/testing? Or is that one of the "big boy" toys?

Well I think first you need to figure out exactly what information you're trying to derive from your testing. There are alot of different tools out there for different things.

Maybe start of with temp testing...

I'm planning on spending a chunck of change to pressure test.

I'm no expert in this area by ANY means, but all these things go hand in hand. Pressure, temps, flow... it's kinda hard to produce accurate results without a way to test and show all the information.

True, true...

But if you want to start with BASIC testing, a simple statement of your test setup and keeping it consistent throughout the test is acceptable. On a certain level.

You have to start somewhere...

Yeah, I know. I'm gonna ask myself just what I want from this.

It's more woolgathering, seeing what I can do with this machine kinda stuff.

A good start would probably be a CPU block.

also need a stable room temp for stats

flow meters dwyer others

variarc: for heat load tester and cathrod element

Boy, proper testing sure is expensive...:sweating:

I'm gonna leave it up to the pros like Skinee. He does an awesome job & makes a hell of a reviewer!

Expensive is damn right. The manometer I had wasn't right for the testing needed. I have to buy a completely different one.

Kayin, think about what you want to highlight in your tests and which components you want to test. I would be glad to help you out, its what Martin asked of me when he began to nudge me back in the right direction when I would stray off course.

I want to help out, so skinnee isn't the only one stuck testing and burns out like Martin.

I do design many of my own components so I'm often looking at thingsfrom a different perspective as well.

Slappy, I may decide I want to do that. skinnee, if you have some basic info, hit me up on PM. I would love to figure some of this out.
