Ahhhh I love Mushkin. I don't use them in my personal machine, but I won't settle for anything less in customer builds.

Thing is, I got that card in a trade for some DDR3.

I've PM'd the guy so hopefully he'll put it right.

They usually come out with a Redline Series (http://www.mushkin.com/doc/products/memory_detail.asp?id=647) which is a higher-binned version of the XP series with red heatspreaders.

According to Greg at Mushkin, the Redlines should be out soon.

(He's another one we should invite here. I'll shoot him a PM)

Is the Mushkin REDLINE their top line of RAM?

How much more does it typically cost?

Xilikon

Usually 10-15% premium over the XP2/XP3 line. I have a set of PC2-8000 2x2GB Redline and it works great, even surpassing the set speed without ever touching 2v.

I think their new top of the line is the Ascent (but they're black heatspreaders)

But the Redline are cherry-picked high-binned chips. They usually clock like monsters.

Ascent isn't always the top of the line, it's just a new line with a special heatsink designed to efficienly dissipate heat. We also have Redline Ascent (http://www.mushkin.com/doc/products/memory_detail.asp?id=667) with the red Ascent heatsink ;)

We need Greg to answer those questions :D
