is it ok to run pure Pentosin G12? My friend wants Pink coolant, just like the Feser One Pink, but at $55 per litre... I dont think so, but G12 is similar in colour just not UV, so my question is can G12 be the sole coolant in a loop?
UK isnt too bad on the shipping, but the US shipping prices are total BULLSHIT! $55 alone to ship a litre to Australia with some tubing?! WTF?! I think the postal companies are doing too many lines :coke:

I've had no experience with G12 Pentosin, but I'd have to believe at full strength it would be too thick to do any good. Dilute it at varying levels to see what works best...

G12 non-diluted would be to thick I would think. I would imagine you would need a pretty free flowing loop as well.
Honestly I wouldn't do it, I've worked with G11 in the past and found it more cumbersome than anything. Then again I'm biased, I hate glycol for loops and refuse to ever use again.

It's cheaper to get pink tubing and use distilled. I don't advocate using colored fluids at all and I think using G12 non-diluted won't work at all.

thats kinda where my thoughts were too, but I thought I was just being too critical, guess I should of gone with my gut on this one  as for pink tubing, I am under the impression that its not all that great?! I have looked and looked for previews or even just pics of Pink tubing and besides Fesers PR pics, nothing.... and lets face it those Pics are doctored, I wouldnt be surprised if there wasnt even any tubing in the photo! LOL
Red playing with fluids prior to putting them in a loop is always a good idea ;) my white food colouring is great! but give it 30mins to settle and its like WTF!? so im glad I didnt put it in my operational loop, and add heat to it OMG! it breaks down before your eyes!

The heat capacity of simple distilled water (http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/specific-heat-fluids-d_151.html) is unsurpassed among the possible fluids you might practically put into your rig. Lesser amounts of heat energy are absorbed, per unit temperature rise of the liquid, by liquid mixtures having lower fractions of water. It's that simple. :fact:
Use distilled water, a few crystals of CuSO4 to kill all life, and colored tubing. :)

Rubidium I think your right on the money mate, but in saying that hes a little bitch and wants his Pinky (I think he might be gay....shhhh!) I think maybe I could sleeve the tubing to some effect?! but I dont know if that will turn out anywhere near as nice, as for the cooling side, its a triple Rad for a E7300 OC to 4ghz, so it could be worse
any help on Pink tubing would be greatly appreciated... plus girls might get into WC more if its pretty :slobber:

Yep, just like G-11, a 9/1 mixed with distilled and G-12 is best for a LC loop. You can run pure G-12 in your loop if you like, it won't hurt anything, but you will get reduced flow and thermal performance. Even in a automobile your supposed to run it 2/1 with distilled.

Adding a modest amount of the appropriate fabric dye (like Tintex - an Australian product! http://tintex.com.au/store/colourcharts/fabricdyes.html) to water is better than getting the same or similar dye through a commercial "coolant mix" that also happens to be rich in some glycol. The glycol does nothing for you except to reduce the heat capacity. IMHO, glycol is only useful for applications that require the boiling point raised or the freezing point lowered. Am I missing something?

Rubidium you have done it again ;) Im gonna buy some of this to see if it can do what I need it to, Im sure he will get over the non UV properties if I add some white lights :)
thanx alot for the help guys :)

you know I will ;)
I just had one last brain storm to shut pinky up if it fails, Pink CCFL's and White Feser tubing?? it has potential to work??

LMAO, I thought this was for a girl at first.... so a guy wants this? Maybe you could send it to MDPC and have them etch "MetroBoy" on there :D
Ok jokes aside, if all else fails, I would think Pink CCFL's and white tubing would work.

pink, don't like it too much...
don't tell us that this is a Hello Kitty build...
no insults intended of course, just personal opinion...
pink cfl and white tubing is good...
Rubidium i hope that the fabric dye don't break down, or cause clogging... otherwise its a good suggestion with lots of color to play around with...

If your loop contains Plexiglas you should not exceed the ratio of 1:1 for the G12. According to the manufacturer of Plexiglas it can get tension cracks.
