Have an exciting new utility to show today that is coming soon http://www.evga.com/forums/image/s2.gif

A couple of facts:

First version of this utility will support all EVGA GTX 260, 280 and 295 cards.
Will work ONLY on EVGA graphics cards, and ONLY for EVGA registered users.

Check out the below example, a small VCore boost increases my clockspeed 100MHz!

EVGA GTX 295 Air Cooling

Standard Voltage (1038mV)
Max Clocks: 684MHz Core / 1476MHz Shader

Increased Voltage (1263mV)
Max Clocks: 783MHz Core / 1692MHz Shader

If this does not void your warranty, I will definitely be getting a compatible card! This is just sick, I'm so glad EVGA finally decided to do this.

I can't see it voiding the warranty if they're giving it to you.

I guess it must be voltage adjustments through the bios. Much less of a pain in the ass than editing a bios and reflashing!

BUT!!

No GTX 285 support so far. I wonder if the 285s are already have higher voltages to get the clocks up higher than the 280.

If that's the case, the 285 is shaping up to be a bit of a fail, since the 295 quad SLI is less money and with this utility and proper cooling, the quad SLI will thrash the 285 tri SLI with no extra voltage help.

Seeing as how this program is still in beta, I'm sure 285 support will be added. I can't imagine this being an easy feat programming wise. I would think each different card would take some time to add support for.

True. It does say 260, 280 and 295.

Maybe it's the 280 "series"

Woot, I'd give it a whirl soon with my EVGA GTX 260 core 216 to see if I can get more juice out of it.

If that let's you get up to 1.35, the two cards I have will def do over 850 clocks and 1800 shaders. My cards does 756/1566 at 1.04v as it is now. I'd be all over that thing without hesiation. I designed my build for over volted GPU cards:D

so with this all being said. Would it behoove me to get the EVGA GTX 260 or stay with my XFX GTX 260 Black edition i picked out?

Have you already bought the XFX? If not, I would get the EVGA. EVGA is much more leniant on their warranties than XFX. Even if you think you have broken the EVGA warranty you can usually call their tech support and they'll RMA just about anything.

I'm RMAing my 750i FTW board, it's been volt modded and it's missing the entire stock heatsink... of course i'm having to a pay a little, like $30 or so, but still.

no, i havent purchased it yet. Found a GTX 260 SSC on NCIXUS for $20 cheaper than the XFX card and includes mirrors edge i believe.

Yeah, you can bet EVGA is releasing that V tuner for a reason, and it ain't out of charity. I've always liked EVGA's brand, seems like they get more of the good bins to me, and their warranty can't be beat. With the V tuner, I'm all abut EVGA going forward.

Exactly, times are hard and they need to move ahead of the rest of the pack so to speak. This is just one more thing that will make them shine brighter than the rest. Way to go EVGA!

this opens up a whole new can of worms for the GPU market, way to be a pioneer EVGA.

riva tuner to include voltage tweaking would be nice...

I bet everyone can add voltage adjustment but not many is willing to go that path due to liability when the card get damaged by excessive voltage. I think EVGA did his homework and made sure people cannot get over a certain range.

Woohoo, conformation that this will not void any warranty!
