Rumor : New EVGA classified

I wouldn't be surprised. They are probably trying to update it with USB 3.0 and SATA 6.0

I suppose it's possible in response to both the Asus Rampage III Extreme and the Gigabyte UD7 which both have USB3 and SATA6 on them.

I believe the SR-2 has both of those features on it, so yeah it would make sense for them to update, but I haven't seen any rumors or concrete information about it.

rumor is yes there working on a new revision, MovieMan has made a few comments and he was one of the first to get a SR-2 (for free of course so) I would think he'd be in the loop on this.

I dont think it will hit retail personally. the sr-2 has taken this long, and by the time the new revisions are done the new intel sockets and chipsets will be out therefore no reason to release a board for EOL hardware. But imo all they need to do is change the USB and sata controllers on the same board and they are good. the EVGA X58 and P55 lineup isnt broken and even with the new board releases the EVGA's still hold top performance and max OC records so why change them other than the absolute necessary changes. shamino will have his hands full on this one.

EDIT: FUCK movie man fuckin old pervert motherfucker. must be nice to be able to say "oh I crunch for XS give me free hardware" and actually get it. I'll send out 10 emails today to different manufacturers saying "I crunch for RRTECH hook me up with some free stuff" bet they say get fucked, you know why?? because they know that ANYONE at XS will do anything for free stuff even compromose their integrity to do so. I hope that the SR-2 sucks ass this way movie mans credibility is fucked worse than it is seeing as his "review" (if thats what you want to call it) was a simple write up saying how amazing the board was. What sort of getting old? X58 is X58...not like people get a strike of genius to do something innovative on these boards. They're just going with the tide and using PCIe USB 3 and a Marvel Sata III controller.

I wouldn't be suprised but I have heard little other then random comments from people who might be 'in the know'.

Past not having USB 3 and SATA 3 I don't see how it is 'getting old' there is only a small hand full of boards that can beat or match it. Not really sure what a 'gamer' board is as that usually means 3/4 way SLI/CF and overclocking.

And a single version of the SR2 would simply be a Classy with a few more features. I thought it was my understanding the next chipset was going to use 1366, being just a update and overhaul of the X58.

I wouldn't do that if I were you; It seems to me that it's against the forum rules #3/4 (at least as long as you solicit from "preferred" vendors...), and if it got back to Red, he'd probably get pissed enough that you'd get pink....


As for a new Classified, I'd kinda like to see an update to the E759 that ditches the shitty realtec LAN and SATA/IDE controllers, and replaces them with Intel NIC's, and a GOOD secondary drive controller (preferably one that doesn't add a fuckload of time to boot-ups)......

nope X68 will be a complete new socket same with P65 P55 and X58 were just go betweens, the new sockets are supposed to be "the new 775" meaning around for a long time and have , 4,8,12, and 16 core chips
