Since we have no other AMD users, I'm gonna post the ongoing work on my ATi Grouper. It was marketed under the name of the Sapphire PURE Innovation, though Sapphire's board was the straight reference design.
A review or two...

And the board as it stands...

The reference board had three BIOS chips, as well as another SATA controller, a POST code reader, and other assorted goodies. My one of those went out in a blaze of glory in a freak transformer accident.

AMD isn't the fastest right now. When this board was released, it was the fastest thing out there. Period.
Besides, I have a lot of nostalgia with this. I don't run renders on my media center-I watch movies. This will work just fine.

It's Ok Kayin I'll be an AMD user with you. Ashamed
I've only used an AMD system once in my life. That was a compaq at my sisters house, which doesn't exactly count.
I would like to see AMD make a comeback with Deneb though! People are often too quick to forget that we NEED AMD AND Intel competing at a level ground to keep prices low and innovation at its peak. :2up:

Ive never seen a White PCB before and I gotta say I love it!! :slobber:
and having 4x S939 4800 X2's sitting in my draw I now want one of these boards... I could see a red and white case build happening!
Now I need to locate one of these boards... I saw a new board on Flea bay when I did a quick search but it had already ended!

I started out with AMD. I still have a 5600 and 6000 stashed away, with a Crosshair board and another 940 board.
They'd work great for any other utility type PC's,
good luck,

well thats what I think they still work great, and running Linux you dont need top tier tech :) so I am glad I still have my AMD's as I only went to Intel because of the huge performance difference, but I prefer AMD :) AMD was what went in my first gaming PC and ever since then I have had a love for AMD

Since we have no other AMD users, ...
Give us enough time and we'll eventually come out of the closet. :D
Both sides have their strengths and weaknesses. I'm not a gamer, but for multi-socket high-performance workstations it's hard for me to break away from Opterons.

I'd love to update, but honestly I'm stalled waiting for cash. Should be March before I actually have money again, unless I just happen on some caches of materials...
I also have no CPU, and of course no funds to buy one. I'm just being patient, good things come to those who are.

AMD S939 3800 X2 in the mail :) It overclocks well too, 2.7ghz is what it did run at without pushing

i have 3 AMD machines at home and for their price, its hard to say no. I know their not the fastest, but for what we use them for at home, their blazing fast. How good is that sapphire board? Never seen one before.
Id love to see more white PCB motherboards, black is great, but the white is just unique.

It was the best s939 board FrostByte; If Kayin drops in an Opty185 he'll have himself a 'good time'.

I started out with an Athalon XP3200, still have it right beside me. It runs Ubuntu and frostwire. I use it crunching, music storage, and web for my wife. Still a great little machine.

I started with a K6 233 and a K6 166. I had Slot A Athlons, Althon XPs, a whole bunch of Venice and San Diegos, FX60 S939 and FX62 AM2. The highlight is the Opteron 180 system. I think I have a history of AMD too.

AMD love :)
I am with you Ricey, I started with a K6 233 and worked up from there! although I never had the slot A athlons, but everything else I have had, but my Opteron 185 was a shit OC'er so I sold it ages ago... I dont know why either, I got 200mhz and it would not go any higher?? I guess it was a super dud
