Seems like an interesting concept. Sort of a PSU booster.
Do you think it would work?

IIRC, Jonnyguru said it was SHIT and I'd have to agree with him without having first hand experience with it.
Even if this isn't the one he tested, I still say it's SHIT.

LOL...ok.
Thanks for that informed and enlightening opinion :D
Actually, looking at JohnnyGuru's review and this is quite informative:
Summary
Although more powerful than both the Ultra Power Partner and FSP Booster X3, the Thermaltake 450W Power Express manages to bland its way to a tie for last place of the four units in the roundup. I can't help but think I should have gotten better performance from this puppy, for it does share the same platform as the 650W model.
The Good:
reasonably efficient
nice modular cables
active PFC
The Bad:
weird ripple doings a-transpirin'
annoying fans
The Mediocre:
huge 12V out of spec ripple spikes on power off
looked at the blue LEDs. My vision is impaired! I cannot see!

TT FTL!
It's a good idea, and if it didn't come from TT I'd probably jump on board. I just don't trust their PSU's for reliable output for the GPU's of all things.
Although that said, it is rated 80+... I'd have to see some reviews before considering.
Seriously though... would you trust a company that brought the monstrosity that is the Mozart TX into the world? Then actually had the balls to call it a HTPC chassis?!?!

Zlojack, I'm more eloquent than Jonyguru will ever dream of being...:D

its a nice concept... if under a different brand name, probably worth considering...
but since we have those big 1000W psu, is this really needed?

I wouldnt touch that with a 2,000,000 foot pole. If you need more power, just get a little 500watter and mount it up, any case worth its snuff can hold 2 psu's these days.
