This being load all drivers, recognize as a hard drive and not show up in My Computer, it's dead, right? I loaded up a suspected bad drive and am messing with it ATM, and that's what I got.

Did you check if Windows see it in Disk Management MMC ? Sometime, it see the disk but since it's not partitionned or borked, the OS doesn't assign a letter.

I got close to it and heard "whirrrrTICK. whirrrrTICK." It's officially dead. I have a known good drive to test as well. Just building a Mithril-themed external...

It got dropped. I'm not even sad, i knew it was likely. I just have to find a decent WORKING SATA drive. Might go trolling fleabay later.

However, aluminum, bamboo and white LEDs makes for a hell of a good looking drive enclosure.
