View Full Version : Any of us play MMOs?
So, I gave up MMORPGs for Lent... :shake:
Right now, I'm relapsing. I used to play Silkroad a LOT back when a bunch of us JA gamers had the J4mR0ck clan up. A few of us still play, but not so unified anymore. I'm planning to jump back in as soon as Lent is done, because I miss it.
I also play Warrior Epic, 'cuz that's crazy fun. I figure a couple of us play WoW or other big name MMORPGs, so I'm wondering who plays what, and maybe we can have a thing.

LMAO I'm sure we can find something for you. :D
Ahh, Cabal was so much fun. Used to BETA test it, watching it grow from the annoyances it used to have is pleasing.

I've played most mmo's under the sun out there, but for now I am actually not playing any, which is kind of surprising, this is the longest break I have ever had from them,

I have played quiet a few of the 'free to play' ones as well as WoW and Aion.
Me and my girlfriend will likely start up on WoW once the new expansion starts. Currently not playing anything at the moment other then FPSs.

previous MMO escapade:
Ragnarok online, probably the first time that i had DSL, me and the girlfriend used to go online together... now not anymore...
current, occational MMO:
just WoW, Bonechewer server...
and for the record, i don't play 25/8... only 2 hours per day, when i can...
and also its better if you play online together with some friends, raiding and gaining achievements and such...

2 nights a week. i raid. thats IT. and usually we all have other shit to do so its not like you have some poor fucking nerd on the other side of the country stabbing his eyes out with a fork in rage cuz i didnt show up to own some digital bullshit. motherfuckers know damn well if i can be like HEY LOOK REAL WORLD SHIT TO DO :D ima go do that and not give it a second thought ^_^
I only played on the free ones or free trials. I use to be addicted to MMOs but I quit
I'm pretty game clean apart from the occasional Xbox 360 gaming session mainly FPSs though like COD.

I used to play Guild Wars, but I don't have any real life friends who game on PC so I stopped playing after a while. Random PUGs just aren't as fun as having friends in the game.

When I was younger I used to be pretty hardcore about Asheron's Call. My parents should have beat my ass and made me go outside more :shake:.
Before I had kids and a real job I used to play WoW more than I should have, then once real life set in I dropped MMO's. When you have kids and a wife and a full time job MMO's just don't make sense, to me at least.
But, I've played:
Asheron's Call - Guess you could call this my favorite, though i don't play anymore
WoW - Was only fun when you had friends that played
Age of Conan - Fucking hated this game. I can't stand games that are "closed in" and don't give players freedom to do what they want and go where they were regardless of level or class (sandbox FTMFW)
Guild Wars - Played it for a day or two, this game was just weird as fuck.

I've only ever played in two MMO's in my life; Earth and Beyond which I played as a 10-day demo (Back when I was in 8th grade, so that would have been at least 6 years ago), and much more recently I played DDO for all of about 30 minutes before I said "this shit is gay, the graphics suck, and the story is stupid."
My general rule with MMO's is that they're bullshit and that I don't have any interest in them. There is only one possible exception to this rule, and that is a Warhammer 40k MMO, which is currently in development. I'm a total 40k junkie; :bird: Starcraft, that poor imitation by those assholes at Activision....

I never got into MS. I played with some friends years ago, left, they got me back in, than I left. I just couldnt play for more then two weeks without quitting out of boredom.
I played WoW also. I quit right before that Argent Tournament patch came out. Grinded my ass off getting T7.5 and BiS for my rogue, and than it all goes to waste cause 8 - 8.5 comes out. If I get back into it, I am going straigt into 3v3 again - 2100 rating, which is alright IMO.
Oh, and I played RS... 99 Smithing :D:crack:

Yeah all MMO's have this to a degree but WoW is worse about it.
Hopefully with the new reworked world and quests in the next release the other major problem will get fixed and that is simply that you feel like you are doing everything you can to get to at least level 50 so you can actually get into the larger more fun PVP stuff. I know MMO's are about level grinding but fuck don't make it feel like everything I did was useless.

Closest I ever got to an MMO was Diablo II... now they make ever goddamn game into an MMO, Star Wars the Old Republic is going to suck SHIT. The point of those games was you changing the universe, that doesn't happen when there are thousands of other people in the same universe.
:bird:
Oh god not MS, I got addicted to that crap for a few years when I was 13, I even played on the Japanese servers and started a private server. SO glad I don't play crappy MMOs anymore fucking chew up so much time.
