I wonder when this board is going to appear.
I'm tempted to sell my Gigabyte and get that one if it appears soon. Since I'll be waiting to finish my build anyway...
What do you guys think?
A bird in the hand?
FTW?

Well, I don't have either board so I can't comment from experience, but If it were me I would go with the Gigabyte. Seeing as how this is Evga's first go at an Intel chipset, I personally wouldn't trust it. Gigabyte is tried and proven, just my .02.

Ah, but I was talking about the yet-to-be-released X58 SLI FTW edition, which would have the hardware SLI NF200 chip on it. Should be out some time this month.

FTW is definitely in R3's future...:fact:
Vincent, we'll need some blocks for it...:D
I do love that sexyass Foxconn BloodRage though....:hmm:

The BloodRage is a damn fine looking board.
We'll see. If I really like my UD5, I'll pass on the FTW.

Ah get an RIIE lol
RIIE doesn't turn my crank.
The thing about the EVGA that attracts my attention is the layout, which would allow me to mount my fans internally (currently, the rear fans will be external on my case to leave room for the bottom card in tri-SLI)
The second thing that I like is the 3 full 16x PCIE lanes with the NF200 chip.
But of course, I know that really only makes a difference in synthetic benchmarks.
We'll see. I'm a stubborn SOB :o

Yeah true but I got it now no sense gettin rid of it just cause something better comes along. It'll do what I want it to. I just thought of that once you mentioned it about the 3rd card fitting & I think I have enough room I'll just have to mount the 1st fitting on the inside with a direct 90 or 45 possibly.

My concern with my board is that the fans won't have enough clearance, which is why I'll probably mount them internally.
I'm also going to do some creative thinking with regards to that bottom fitting.

i say you keep the GB. the evga board has alot of issues with memory dissapeering. they are trying to fix it but it seems to be pretty apparent.
say you have 3x2gb sticks in the board.
you can run up to 1.65v and it will run fine. anything over than will make 2gb dissapear.
sounds dumb i know. check on evga forums.
i know its just a bug that they need to iron out but the GB board is SOLID as a rock. i personally dont like the bios they use but it can OC VERY well with ease.
thats my standpoint.

THank god for now I only bought 2 gigs of RAM to get the RIG running and dont have this issue. But hopefully they get it figured out soon.
However I think the GB board is awesome and dont think its worth at all to waste the money and switch over.

Ahhhh FUCK
Everything was moving along fine and this morning I get up and find the fucking thing rebooted (this always happens at night). These are on tested and confirmed settings with Prime95 that has been running for days crunching as well.
It corrupted the bios and now it's reverted to F2 bios again.
Last time I went through this bios-flashing routine it corrupted my RAID array. :(

RMA is a huge pain in the ass.
I'm not going to wait and send this fucker back to Gigabyte and it's outside of the RMA period with the store. I'll just put it up for sale and let someone else wrestle with it who has more patience.
I'm still going to give it another shot and see what happens.

Contrary to all the nay-sayers, I like eVGA.:)
This time around, I'm seriously considering the FoxConn "BloodRage".

Well i'd have to say i'm very pleased with my EVGA, i have not came across a single bug yet that I know off and the board is very solid. I would personally recommend it to anybody :)
BIOS is not bad neither, which that is always a plus.

Got the EVGA board. Support is awesome, plus the bios is done by Shamino, so you know it is done right. If you are getting a new board, get this one or the Bloodrage, both should be smoking boards.

So I've sold the Gigabyte after all. The EVGA bios is much simpler. I hope it clocks as well as the Giga after all this. The EVGA layout is much better for my project, so I hope the board performs. I am going to probably get the Bitspower blocks for this board, as the vreg gets very hot when overclocked.

So far on the EVGA I'm running 191x21 for 4GHz. I seem to have hit a bclk wall there as even 192 give me a BSOD.
I'm going to try a different bios and also some further tweaks I've seen on the EVGA forums. Still, a 4GHz 8-thread quad is pretty sweet! :D

The price of Bei_Fei blocks is exorbinate, considering they do not have countersunk screws and acetal tops.
For about the same price, BitsPower's blocks are solid Nickel-Plated Copper and far superior in looks and quality.
If you are going to make HomeBrew blocks, then they really need to fit a niche. The ASUS P6T single MOSFET is a niche. It's really the only way to compete if you plan on making a business of it.

You should wait and see them before you judge them. I have and they will look sweet. They should be out next week and since I have the board already I can post some pics and you can judge for yourself. And as far as price goes, well that's up to him and he isn't having any problem selling them.

IMO BP. The construction of the BP's are rock solid, nickle plated copper all the way.
The machining of the BF blocks look horrible to me and the screws on that thing aren't very soothing to the eyes, but again, this is just my opinion.

You may be surprised by the design when they come out. But either way, it's your money, go with what you like the best. I have seen the blocks and to me they are designed better for better flow and easier to route tubing and will look better than BP's. Just my opinion.

If Bei's block is the same design NaeKuh showed me, the BP will eat its lunch. It's basically two MCW30s with some delrin. Wetted plate designs work, but just barely so.

Look better ? For me, it's true if they actually bother to make the delrin finished. All I see is just some raw delrin surface. BP blocks looks finished professionally compared to BeiFei's without talking about the price.
