So time to build my personal system. Pushing all my funds into good hardware this go around, and bypassing water-cooling for now, just wanted to get you guys' opinion on the parts I had lined up:

EVGA X58 Mobo
i7 Nehalem 920
2x 3x2gb G-Skill DDR3 1600
Nvidia 295
Silverstone 1000w PSU
Promise Fast-Trak Raid Card
2x Fujitsu 147gb 15,000rpm SAS drives (for bootup/main drive raid)
2x Samsung Spinpoint F1 1tb drives (for onboard raid program installs/storage/other stuffs)
Hauppage TV Tuner Card
Anyware htpc remote
Lite-On Blue-Ray Drive.

Toppin out my budget with those retarded expensive SAS drives, but the seek times make me salivate

Does this mean there will be no 'Elegance'?

You're not going to see much of an improvement over the rig in your sig with that build.

What are you running your quad at?

the Q9650 was at 4ghz till the pump died

Man I was just reading up on the tech spec's of those SAS drives, 180mb/sec sustained read/write :omg:
