View Full Version : Anfi-Tec Soleil01 CPU block discussion

Lately, I'm more and more interested to look into very exotic blocks, mainly to encourage smart people to innovate and create nice alternatives to the mainstream blocks from EK, DD, D-Tek and ST. One of the CPU blocks I was looking very seriously is the Anfi-Tec Soleil, which is a very nice piece of engineering but beside some pictures in a thread on the other side, most discussion is in german :(

I'm asking if someone did a review or testing of the Anfi-Tec Soleil block ? If yes, I'd like to see pics, links and translations (most stuff is in german, which make sense since André is german himself and cater mostly in that area).

Some links to the product pages :

LGA1366 : http://shop.anfi-tec.de/product_info.php/info/p64_Anfi-tec-Soleil01-i7-1366----CPU-Kuehler.html
AM2 : http://shop.anfi-tec.de/product_info.php/info/p65_Anfi-tec-Soleil01-AM2---CPU-Kuehler.html
LGA775 : http://shop.anfi-tec.de/product_info.php/info/p63_Anfi-tec-Soleil01-775---CPU-Kuehler.html

For now, here's some teaser pictures for everyone to :slobber: :

RR: That's not the shots they have on their site.... that looks like some old DD stuff to me.

Xil: Contact Andre, I inquired about a few blocks of theirs not to long ago, they were willing to ship their products to the US, so i'm sure they would ship to you. Of course shipping alone would be more than the block itself.

I already sent a pm to André yesterday and awaiting a reply ;)

RRR, is that block in your brain ?

That post is a internal joke with Xilikon...

The block is all the hype in Germany right now. No in-depth reviews yet, though.

I'm not convinced it will be a top performer...:hmm:

It doesn't look like anything special... more like a low-tech heatkiller rev2.0.

More like the "cheap" Heatkiller LC...

Channels are unimpressive, but it has by far the sexiest mount I've ever seen...:slobber:

Hey red! Heatkiller rev 1.6 had the coolest mounting system:

While on the subject... does anyone remember Silverprop (http://www.silverprop.com/watercooling.aspx#waterblocks)? - Back in the day this Australian firm make some seriously cool hardware.

now that I think about it... the Innovacool rev3.0 block had the funkiest mounting system ever:

Langer that would look like a good paperweight material, hehe... funky mounting don't look to idiot proof though...

Well, Anfitech are, by their own account, not after highest possible performance as much as elegant and unique looks.
At least, that's what I recall.

Their mounting system is the best out there, though. Damn well engineered, it is...

Langer

Because they stole it from Watercool.

The Rev2,0 CPU Heatkiller Watercool blocks had a stainless plate all the way though the middle just like that one.

If they aren't after performance and only bling, then they damn sure won't be seeing my hard earned $$$.

Got a link, Langer? I have most of my search locked out here at work.

BTW, that mount is a lot more complex than it seems. It's a very elegant solution, I'll tell ya that. If I ever make a CPU block, it'll have a mount much like it.

No surprise there, Red. :)

For some it's Bling > Performance and for others, it's the other way round.
