Lets say you get 2 GTX480's and want 2 full cover blocks...
Thats about $1600 if the blocks are about 120 a pop. Good lord!

This is why I get the fastest GPU I can when refreshing my system. So I can wait out pricing like this:D I'm anxious to upgrade, and been waiting for these cards to come out, but I can wait for a while longer.

Not sure if I'd trust "sabrepc" for pricing, but hey, that's just me. If the top end card really is the same price as the 5970, this thing better be pretty awesome.

no, both links came from the nvidia facebook wall; but not posted by nvidia themselves.

Long story short is, the SaberPC thing is likely a PR stunt by the company.

The launch is going to be at PAX 2010. And if that made you draw for your wallet, the weekend passes are sold out, only individual day passes are available. You'll be able to register for a drawing for a full trip to Boston for it on the Nvidia website soon. I know I'm going to, since there's no indication of Nvision happening this year.

That's not a review. That's ATI's personal Spin-Doctor mouthing off as usual.

Charlie's the biggest douche bag on the internet. He got fired from The Inq. for bashing and lying about Nvidia, and we know he's lying about this.

Hardware Canucks did a side by side comparison of the benchmark video that was released of Far Cry 2, using a single GTX 480, and a top end build with a 5870, and it was definitely more than just "5% better". :bird: Charlie the ATI Dickshine. The front page of his website is peppered with ATI advertisments for a reason.

Be a month at least until you see any real reviews as that's when they'll lift the NDA's. Just saw where they'll be showing the card at PDXLan East on the 23rd of March. So I wouldn't expect anything real until around then. You'll see plenty of bullshit between now and then, but nothing solid IMO.

okay, if they come out with something decent, that roughly costs the same as a 5870 (a 5870 is nearly 500$ in dk) i might considder getting it:D

just a noob

Just FYI, as for some reason everyone still doesn't know this yet, but the guy who runs semiaccurate is actually paid by ATI to post the lies that he posts :/

Hes actually been caught lying many times in the past but somehow those all seem to just blow over and he keeps ending up being trusted and put into news links over and over.

Theres a reason its called semiaccurate, because really the only thing he ever posts that is true is that the cards and hardware actually exsist :/

How People still think hes a source for anything at all really blows my mind, but I guess a lot of people still don't know any better.

Crow and Icemaz are right. I've heard about this dumbfuck before and just by reading the article it is clear that he isn't a neutral participator in the GPU showdown.

Doesn't matter who says what about the new cards until the NDA's are lifted. Because until then, it's all unsubstantiated rumors. It could be anyone making up anything just to draw attention to their sites, and that usually the case 99% of the time.

One things for sure, NVidia is keeping this one as close to the vest as possible. So it's all bullshit until the 26th of March. Just look at those idiots over on XS's news section if you want proof:D

nvidia (http://twitter.com/NVIDIAGeForce/status/8523402386) decided to rename it to the 4xx...
the fermi is so late, i mean... ahead of its time that it had to 'skip' an entire generation.

Well there's some more preliminary pricing on the 400 series in New Zealand.

GTX480: http://www.computerlounge.co.nz/components/componentview.asp?partid=11915
GTX470: http://www.computerlounge.co.nz/components/componentview.asp?partid=11916

These prices seem about right (multiply by 0.7 or divide by 1.4 for USD), and are more or less the same as a similarly reputable branded, priced and warrantied 5890 (to be specific a Gigabyte for ~$1050). So it looks like GTX480 is going to be $600 USD at launch, with the GTX470 at around $400 USD, maybe a little more. Can't say I'm suprised, and I won't be changing from ATI anytime soon unless the performance is amazing.

Just in case someone checks the prices of ATI on this site, they always inflate their ATI prices heavily, but their nVidia prices are pretty normal for NZ.

vanarnam
03-21-2010, 01:43 AM
well, the US pricing isn't set (i guess i'll still bet that it's 500USD once things settle out but the initial price will be ~550ish or so) but one things for sure-stuff costs a lot in NZ!

Crow
03-21-2010, 02:32 AM
$350 for the GTX 470 and $500 for the GTX 480.
