This is in response to Eddie3dfx asking if the DetroitAC pump top was more quiet, So one by one I will test each pump top for the D5, I have 4 tops to test here, and when i Have tested all I will break down the Audio and upload that aswell.
the tops I have are the DetroitAC top, EK X-Top, One modified Stock top (smoother flow in and out) and a unchanged stock top.
all test will have the camera at 60cm from the pump's Position, I have measured and marked the floor as such so I can repeat each test the same. ;) I have a mouse I will click so you can adjust your sound to match, however I am click the mouse at 50cm from the camera, something to note there is the 10cm difference, remember that! at the end of each clip I will hold the Camera over where the mouse is so you can hear the pump at 10cm from the camera.
Let me know what you thinking of my testing methology

Yes!

While not being scientifically perfect ( some peeps will complain that the tests weren't done in a sound-proof chamber with professional recording equipment etc. etc... ) this test is more representative of what the average Joe is likely to hear from their system.

Well done and looking forward to the next tests !

OK i just took to my old head set and extracted the Mic, i have taped it down so it cant move and remains in the exact same spot, I just recorded the D5, for 20secs, thats my bench mark, I will post it up now but its for the end so I can break apart the Audio and say this top is louder if at all ;)
so if you would like to hear the pump from 1cm (10mm) away your free to download it

P.S. I can only give a 5sec recording because of the upload limit, but its pretty much the same right through to 20secs anyway, so just think of it as the 'easy' recording :)

I am still bleeding all the air out of the Stock tops loop, I can say its definately louder at this stage
Hopefully I can record tonight??

Ok here is Test 2, the stock top, im certain there is more noise here, and it took alot longer to bleed too, so that might be the reason behind the extra noise....inefficiency!

PROOF Eddie was right!!
I have made a 6sec clip that goes from the Detroit AC to the Stock pump recorded clip!! hear it for yourself!

P.S. 3 secs of recording each then swap ;)
P.P.S. there is no Virus in there, if you dont believe me I can email it to you through hotmail or something where they have a free Virus scanner?

cool, I purchased one of these last week, not for noise reduction but I guess thats an added benefit :)

Yes, some people have reported the D5 thermo top reduces noise.
Thanks for taking time to complete this test.
