Don't be surprised; Practically everyone does it when they're new. In my experience, whenever I create a new account on a forum I don't visit ever/often, EVERY thread shows as having "new" posts, even those that haven't had new posts in 5 years, just because those posts are new to *me*. Also, new users tend to not look at the dates on posts/threads before replying....
