Well I will be receiving my sons (and mine:) ) ERBE (E-Revo Brushless Edition) tomorrow...:woot:
E-Revo Brushless Edition (http://www.traxxas.com/products/electric/erevo5608/trx_erevo5608.htm)
This will be fun to play with. Starting off easy by running only 4S LiPo's, but I believe we will be procuring 6S LiPo's soon for some speed runs using the local airport runway the company I work for owns.
I'll be posting pics of the ERBE and upgrades in this thread over the coming weeks...:crack:

Hey red, I was reading on LiPo batteries yesterday. I highly recommend you read this if you plan on recharging LiPo batteries.

done lots of homework, thanks for looking out for me though.
these little fuckers are very dangerous, not something to take lightly at all.
I commissioned a guy who is a member of all the R/C forums to make me a couple custom harness' to charge my batteries in parallel or series, while using the balancer board that comes with the charger. All wiring will be 12ga.
imo, it will be the best $65 I'll spend on the hobby.
Also will be using a LiPo sack.

I use Lipos on my electric Trex450 Heli.
Its a 2170mAh 2s1p 11.1V That drives my hovering beast!
Great well I'm glad to hear it.
I was really quite shocked at how dangerous they are... dang. xD
Post pictures when you get it!

Ah ok :D it just briefly reminded me of Tampa Bay which I couldn't make sense any sense of :D
Holy crap, that parts list looks like a real freakin' car.
One day, I'll get back into the hobby. I remember when I used to own tons of RC cars, I'd take parts from one, drop it in another... Oh, man, good times.
For now, I'm thinking of making a hover-boat with some Vantec Tornadoes. xD

The custom painted body will not arrive till right before Christmas.
I will be preforming the 'mods' once those parts arrive, which is scheduled for today but with Houston experiencing sleet at the moment and...HOLY FUCK...ITS SNOWING IN HOUSTON...:woot:
UPS probably won't make it today

Having owned a nitro T-maxx I understand.
You either have good days and just burn up about 2-3 plugs and a gallon of gas, or you smash into a tree and have to order parts to fix it lol

it is the trees it would be easer if they would just stay in 1 spot hahahaha

My son and I each have a Stampede VXL brushless. Not a T-maxx, but similar. We usually have to come in and order parts. Curb keeps getting in the way. Love Traxxas. Cheap parts that replace easy.

Yea you can have a massive wreck and it only cost you 40 bucks lol.
Well unless you break the block like I did on my buggy :(
Sucker knocked the receiver loose and it went WOT Jumped a sloped curb and got about 40 feet into a guys front yard and smashed into a tree. It sheared the motor right off the chassis!

Well I have commissioned 1stGenCRXer to paint me up a Pro-Line Slipstream body for my son for Christmas. This will be only used for when we run our ERBE on pavement.
I'll be buying another body soon, once my son and I decide which one we want, then having 1stGenCRXer p[aint it as well.:)
If anyone here is like me and not a painter, I highly recommend contacting 1stGenCRXer. Harry is a real pleasure to deal with.
I'll be updating this thread as the painting continues.
Enjoy....:crack:

lol...not by the time you get done with it, at least if you want to race competitively:D
I still have my pit boxes downstairs from back when I raced 1/10 scale pan cars for C&M. I carried about 2000.00 in gear to every race I competed in. Spare motors, batteries, gears, parts, bodies, charger, discharger, power supplies, tires, pit boxes, etc. Adds up pretty quick. Especially those spare parts:D
Nice looking Red, but not as hard as you think painting Lexan from the inside. They make special polycarbonate paint in spray cans, and masking's pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
Makes me want to dig out my car and give it a run. Have a blast.

Yea If I ever got a car, I might just keep it clear plastic. xD it'd kinda look interesting.
Or just ghetto spray paint it whenever it gets real bad...
I'm not all for looks, but for whats inside really. :)
Looking good red, I want some friggin video of that thing zippin down the freeway. :D

When I ran my Savage I had a running body and a Body that I put on it when it sat on the shelf. I had quite an assortment of bodies like the Grave Digger, I also had an F250 body painted up like my personal truck, a HUMMER body that I just thrashed, and 2 factory HPI bodies.
Floyd
12-17-2009, 01:44 PM
a HUMMER body that I just thrashed
Didnt we all lol.
This is why I only used 2 colors and kept it simple because I knew it was going to be ripped up. Heck the stock body was so bad that it ripped all the holes out that were used to hold the body on the truck and I had to use duct tape to try and fix it. That was my race body though.

LOL..ain't it the truth...
nothing like seeing the paint job you spent 12 hours on sliding down the pavement on it's roof doing 20 + MPH. I usually had a show body for mine painted special, and separate race bodies for when I took mine on the track. Because they're painted from the inside, nothing you can really do to make them look better from the outside where they get torn up from. That's why it's best to keep a little bundle of decals stashed away and ready for repairs:D
When your first starting out like Red and son, better make it a big bundle of 1 mil decals:rofl:

Just a word of caution. Regardless of what you might think after getting it all together. Do not put the car down on the floor inside the house, turn it on and hit the controller. Not even for a second, don't even be tempted, don't even think about it, I'm telling you. Don't do it:D Just take it outside to check it out:up:

That's the Masked Rider bitch, our official mascot.
The rider has been female only since the early nineties. The horses name is Black Beauty.
The other mascot, RaiderRed, came along in 1972 I believe. When the SWC prohibited live animals from traveling with the team.
Now that we are in the Big XII, the Masked Rider travels to games in the State of Texas.
