I'm starting a build with a MM Pinnacle 24. Still waiting for the case tho. Theme is gonna be black & white. Hardware is the same as before (see sign), atleast until the new nvidia cards come out.
I've almost finnished sleeving my psu. And :bird: me it takes foreeeever. This is what I got so far.

Now I'm waiting for the case to arrive so I can start the build for real. It'll take 1-2 weeks tho.

What kinds of options did you get on the MM?

Thanx man. I used white electrical tape on every cable to. It took me 5 days to do, 2-4 hours/day:) But I still got all the fan extensions and molex cables to do. For the case I got anodized black with big window panel and triple rad on top.

It's that kind of planning that means the difference between a sleeving job that looks nice and one that looks like shit. There are really three ways to get that kind of look -- wrap the colored wires in electric tape, replace them with wires with insulation that matches the sleeving, or re-wire with cloth-covered wire.

I got some new stuff for my build. 2x mcp355 pumps, 2x bitspower 250 res and 10x sharkoon 2000rpm fans:crack:

http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/4869/pc080107.jpg (http://img709.imageshack.us/i/pc080107.jpg/)
When I run 3 fans on one port on the fan controller, the fans only run in 1700rpm, but that's fine with me.
Here's some of my bitspower silver shiny collection:D

What size are those compression fittings, and are they the new style or the old style?

AquaMuscle

They are 3/8 ID 5/8 OD. I guess they are the new style, not sure. They are all bought the last 4-5 months tho.

Ok, time for some updates... I got the case together and I got to say I just LOVE it:crack: amazing quality. Only bad thing was that the cables for power and reset where too short to manage them nicely, so I took the cables from my antec 1200. Also there is a little gap under the last 5.25 baycover, which buy the way is a pair of lili-covers (didn't realize that you needed to buy them separately with the case)

I think I have too remount my pumps. I get this fucking vibration from the pumps to the case. It sounds like SHIT:turd:
I have them mounted with nuts and bolts and that foam thing, but I didn't use the rubber washers that came with the pumps. That's because you have to drill 8mm holes too get the rubber washers in. Thats four big fucking holes if I ever desides to re-position the pumps.
Do you guys think it would help to remount with the rubber washers in?
How do you got your 355 pump mounted?
Thanks...

I'm using the UN pump mounts on my build and there's hardly any vibration. I cut some of those toolbox rubberliner's to size and glued them on the bottom of the brackets, didn't want to drill a crapload of holes just like you.

excuse the dust and wires I've cleaned and tied them up since lol

Maybe it's enought just to mount them with the rubber grommets directly to the bottom of the case, and skip the neoprene pad:shrug:

The Petra's gel would work if you just used it for grommets. The overheating is caused by seating the pump on the entire gel slab.

I looked through the thread but didn't see what you're using for the front grilles.

are they these? http://www.mountainmods.com/120mm-black-aluminum-fan-filter-p-133.html

how often do you have to clean the filters? Any ideas on having them so they're removable? I thought about putting the bolts in backwards and being able to undo the bolts to take off the filter to clean it, but who the fuck puts bolts on the outside? It would probably look shitty. I may end up just doing wire grilles and blowing out the case more often rather than have 3 spots that are dusty as hell on the front of my case.

Yes, it's those black aluminum fan filters. I clean them with my vacuum cleaner (whenever I use it, 2 times a week maybe) And every time I take the PC apart, I wash them with water.
I agree that putting the bolts in backwards would look like :turd:;) But if you have the filters mounted like I have (fans attached to radiator with short screw, radiator + fans attached to case with black fan screws) you could remove one filter at a time too clean. Because the rad is mounted with 12 screws, it will not fall off if you unscrew 4 of them screws;)

thanks for the advice. I'm currently putting together a parts list and it's looking like mine and yours are going to be pretty similar. I think I'm going to be doing Black fan housing, with white blades and blue LEDs, or blue blades with white LEDs.

Also, what came with your case when it shipped (besides whatever else you ordered)? I saw that it didn't come with any 5.25 covers. Does it come with pCI slot covers, standoffs, any hardware of any kind except what's required to put the case together?

Anyway, I'll be watching this thread closely. Keep up the good work.

For the most part, it's HFS, MFCPS, and AT.DE (in other words, the vendors we prefer to AVOID -- non-preferred vendors) who are on the shitlist. Any of the preferred vendors are cool, and with anyone not on either list my policy is generally to link it and see if anyone says anything.

PCI slot covers and standoffs are included. You also get brackets too mount a total of three harddrives. As you said no 5.25 covers are included, but they do include 5.25 brackets. You get a power and a reset switch (with very short cables). I ordered the bulgin switches separately cause I think they look way better.
That's about it I think.

What you need to order separately is:
- 5.25 covers

I ordered 70 meters small sleev and 7 meters small heatshrink. I have some left though. So maybe about 60 meters of the small sleev. I've also used some sata sleev, 2 meters for the 2 sata data cables, and some for sata / molex power cables. I've also used some black sleeving for my new xigmatek fans and the led cables to my reservoirs.

For my next upgrade I've ordered the tower pedestal 24 from MM. I will mount the pinnacle on top of the pedestal. Like this: http://www.mountainmods.com/images/images_big/TOWERPED24_pic2.jpg

The pedestal will hold one PA120.4 and one PA120.3 rad. I'll take the 120.3 from the front of the case and put it down in the ped. That way there's no heatdump in the case. I'll still have a tripple rad in the roof of the case.
This means I will now have 3 loops:
Loop 1: CPU - 120.3 rad
Loop 2: MB + RAM - 120.3 rad
Loop 3: GPU:s - 120.4 rad

What do you guys think about the airflow in the ped?
Example 1, seen from above

http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/4100/pedestal1.jpg (http://img169.imageshack.us/i/pedestal1.jpg/)

Example 2, seen from above

http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/604/pedestal2.jpg (http://img169.imageshack.us/i/pedestal2.jpg/)

I think example 1 is the way to go, but tell me what you think guys.

I'd probably go with something close to #1, but use the empty slot on the 120.3 side as an extra exhaust.

RedRaider

I don't believe he will have room for a fan there internally Ablateman.

If it was me, I'd go with Example #1.

I would always prefer outside air to be pulled through the rads.

I'd use #1 if I had to, but I still don't think it will work very well. Your trying to exhaust 8-9 fans worth of air out one small opening. As attractive as it looks, using dual rads in one of those will reduce the rads ability to cool a lot. There's only going to be 2-3 inches between the rad which will disrupt air flow thru the rads either way you use it.

It will be loud if you set it up to exhaust enough air out the ped, or choke the airflow thru the rads if you don't. I was considering the same thing for a build, but the numbers don't add up.

Now, it you mod the ped with openings in the bottom pulling fresh air thru those openings and the ends, while exhausting air out the sides, may work pretty well.

i see on top part 4-5? going to 4 fans top exhaust

bottom 8 going 2 , the front rear 12v and 8 sides 5v best have the front/rear is inlet and the sides exhaust

That ped doesn't have a open top, it's sealed by the bottom of the case above it. It's basically two separate compartments. If it weren't all the rads heat dump would go back in the case, which these things are designed to prevent.

AquaMuscle best to add legs on bottom of ped and have 5 fans blow in from underneith or make another ped box just for intake

as andy says not enough balanced CFM on orginale ped design

Yep, and another thing to consider. You'll have a case that's 33" tall with a 9" base..so using the castor's might cause a problem with tipping. I have the Pinnacle 24 myself, so I know how top heavy it can be at times.

I get your point and I agree there's not enough exhaust, and the rads will loose performance, if I use #1. But with that said, I still think it would work ,and give me better temps than I have now with "only" 2 loops. I might reconsider putting the tripple rad down in the ped tho. :hmm:

Aqua....I used a 4.5inch Hole saw and just swayed it side to side to get it a little bigger. I wasn't using it mount a rad so it didn't have to exact, but its almost a 120mm opening.

In AM's case, I'd just cut a rectangle opening all the way along the bottom leaving about 1" along all 4 sides. Just so it would allow air thru to the rads. Cutting round holes for fans wouldn't work very well with the 9" wide ped he has. The rads and rad fans would pretty much block the fans below them. I'd then put some filter material in the bottom of the ped over the opening, and mount the fans/rads to the side going case/fan/rad with the fans pulling air thru the rads out the sides. With the front/back 120 and the bottom opening acting as air intake openings, should allow plenty of air flow thru the rads.

Just something to think about:up:

That's great:up: Us Pinnacle owner's need to stick together:D I really do consider the Pinnacle to be one of, if not the most efficient tower case designs for what we do.

Not to harp on it, but do watch and pay attention to how top heavy this case and pedestal will be when using the castor's as is. Since the castor's naturally mount towards to inside, that reduces the base footprint to an effective width of around 7" wide with a 33" height. I'm hoping all the extra weight from the rads and fans towards the bottom will help offset the center of gravity, but I would pay special attention to it either way.

Good luck, have a blast, and I can't wait to see the rest of this one come together:up:

18 of these sharkoon 2000rpm fans, wich I sleeved in black. 9 or 10 of them will be in the ped. It depends on if I can fit a fan next to the 120.3 rad.

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/6174/p40201622.jpg (http://img143.imageshack.us/i/p40201622.jpg/)

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/9682/p4020165.jpg (http://img143.imageshack.us/i/p4020165.jpg/)

Bitspower radgrills. I got two of the 480:s. One for each side of the ped. The 360 is for the roof of the case.

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/3790/p40201672.jpg (http://img143.imageshack.us/i/p40201672.jpg/)

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/6259/p4020171.jpg (http://img143.imageshack.us/i/p4020171.jpg/)

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/1065/p4020174.jpg (http://img143.imageshack.us/i/p4020174.jpg/)

Now I'm just waiting for the ped to arrive. Should be here next week..

I've been using them for a while now, and as far as filters go, doesn't get much better. Any filter that truly works will be restrictive. The issue is, how well does it work given the restriction in creates. Based on what I've seen and tested, doesn't get any better.

I have to give credit to andy for the idea though:clap1: But it really works. I put my hand under the filter while the fans were on in the ped, and I could really feel the airflow. So I'm really happy with the design to:)

Thought I'd post some "final" pictures of my build (it's never gonna be final, I realize that:p)

I've installed a fourth rad. It's a XSPC RS360 and I installed it in the front and put it on my cpu loop. I chose the rs360 only because it was thin enought to fit and not be in the way of the pumps (on a side note, I'm never buying another TC rad EVER, got so much fucking flux in my TC rads it's unbelivable) I only got a fourth rad because I thought it looked empty in the front and wanted to fill up the space there. Not because I need it. Didn't get much of a temperature drop either. Maybe 1 or 2 C.

On to the pics....

After seeing ballz0rs heatkiller, I decided to paint mine black aswell, to match my black and white theme. I also threw in an enermax twister as an exhaust in the back.

So I made my 3 loops into 1, using dual d5s with the bp top and dress kit.

Things I like with this setup:
1: It's quiet, the d5s are DEAD quiet @ setting 4, love that!
2: Easier tube routing in the ped (one less tube to deal with, trust me it's tight down there;))

Things I don't like:
1: CPU temp is a bit higher than before.
2: It looks kind of empty.

I'll probably go back to three loops but with three d5s this time instead of the 355s

Until then, here's some pics...

Things I like with this setup:
1: The D5s are quiet and look amazing all dressed up:crack:
2: Temps are better than they were with one loop
3: It doesn't look empty in the case:p

Things I don't like:
1: It's hard to get the d5s to start pumping water and not air when filling the system. I have to tilt and shake the case to get the air pockets out. That wasn't an issue with the 355s.
