well i never noticed it until it was pointed out to me but i guess im using a pwm fan controller. its the sunbeam extreme rheobus.
my question is, what way do i have to regulate 8 ultra kazes thats NOT a pwm controller?
also.. i might get some more powerful fans in the near future so will that be a problem?

I have the same controller, what is wrong with it being pwm? It works fine for me, I have all this hooked up to it:
6 YL Mediums
3 YL Highs
2 Panaflos (86 CFM version)
It runs all this without a hiccup. At one point I was running 12 YL Mediums but it was all to loud for me, even with the controller.

When you get into high power consumption for fans, you are basically very limited in your options for controlling them. My BigNG seems to do a fair job of eliminating the clicking noise, its not completely gone but its not noticeable unless you put your ear up to the fans. Other than that, a rheostat is pretty much the only way to go, and then its going to get REALLY hot, so you'd probably have to water cool that as well :P. In project elegance the total power draw of the fans is 1182 watts, try controlling that!
