There good, I use OCZ or Corsair and some times kingston
I been looking at the GSKill [ Perfect Storm ] F3-17066CL9T-6GBPS for my new build but have not decided if I get these or OCZ or Corsair
But I leaning towards OCZ
But GSKill are good but not great
Never buy Cas 9 DDR3 1600. For the same price as that crap, you can get Cas 9 DDR3 2000 from Super Talent.
G.Skill has fallen off, I'd rather buy some 3x2GB Cas 8 DDR3 1600 RAM from Wintec for $125.

If cas 9 is all they'll give you, just take it. Up the volts a little, throw some good cooling on them, and lower the cas to a stable level. The performance hit going from cas 9 to 7 is extremely minimal in daily computing/gaming.
That makes the difference between a 20 second bootup, and a 30-40 second boot up...

Honestly I'm not sure on that...
I have a five year old laptop that will boot up faster than my current desktop when both have fresh OS installs. The real limiting factor in boot times in my experience (after generally slow hardware) is slow a slow POST.
Well I can tell the difference when I'm running my RAM at 1066, vs 1333...
ELPIDA baby!!!

BULL FUCKING SHIT
I'm far from a "know it all", but I for damn sure know that tightening your timings isn't going to shave 10-20 seconds from a standard windows boot. WTF are you smoking down there in JA? Did you slip a little something "extra" in the ganga?

Who cares how fast the PC starts lol.
I just run my ram at stock settings. Working on rams settings really wont net you many gains.

I've never tested DDR3, but with DDR2 the impact it had in gaming was minimal.

Meh, I don't really get why we're talking about boot times...
I restart my computer every 2-4 weeks, tops. Actually, now that I think about it, I'd say that almost half of the times I've had to reboot it were either because someone decided to be an asshat and pull the plug on my machine, or the power went out. Then there are the 3-5 crashes I had early on due to trying to run my RAM above the capabilities of my memory controller.
Honestly, I've probably had to boot my computer somewhere around 15-30 times in since the end of December last year....

Same here, which is why I referenced what I saw in gaming and day to day computing. Fuck boot times :bird:
Run that shit 24/7 and crunch! :crack:

Ripjaws F3-16000CL9D-4GBRH Any good
Its a decent kit, they do 2150MHz with ease
at 1600MHz they will run 7-7-7-18 and give really good bandwidth..
at 2000MHz you need to run the 9-9-9-24 but the results are impressive, latency is below 40
Dominators will give you better overclocks as they do around 2200+ but the 50 or so MHz are not worth your kidney
