Ok so Im trying to get the old rig up and running (old meaning, my personal daily use and not FB), but for some reason the USB is hit or miss. In fact most of the time it doesn't work at all. It's not a windows issue because there is NO OS installed period, and all disks have been formatted, which means its a hardware issues. My only guess is maybe I fried the SB running it at 3ghz on stock air for 6 months straight, but then wouldnt that have other signs? Everything else works just fine, it POST's fine, loads windows installer just fine, everything, just the USB doesnt work. I've tried fiddling with the USB settings to every possible configuration and nothing, and sometimes it will just randomly work D: Any ideas?

Also to clarify this further and make it more odd, the USB works during post and in the bios, just not in any OS (wtf?)

is usb turned on in the bios?
If it works early on, then it's not a hardware problem.
