if you look at step one in that pic is has blades:)
would love to see how it performs though... with a good enough turbine we might be in for some real tough shit:D

This is not really a fan. It simply takes the flowing air from another fan, and it's design 'pulls' other air with it, increasing the airflow of the first fan.

its sweet but i think i whould be hard to fit that in a case :P
and what about noise ?
there must be something propeling the air

Ummm, no, not exactly. It's "induced" by an impeller (the same concept as blades of a turbine) and this is combined with air drawn-in (sucked). Which is why it's called "induced" air. If this could be made small enough and still perform then it could definitely be used in a PC. The impeller would have to be pretty forceful though. Might sound like a jet too...
i dont think it would perform that good on a radiator. the princip would blow there
Ahahaah yeh there is a impeller. Thats what u get when you post at 1 in the morning after a long days work.
I must say its very interesting though
cheapskate

Screw the ring. Give me the turbine. That sucker must have some insane static pressure.

Given how powerful the Dyson 'AirBlade' is I would love to see this thing. (for those of you who don't know the AirBlade is a hand dryer)

Aren't those intolerably loud?
And highly ineffective.
Generally.
Although I've never seen one of those dyson ones....

The dyson AirBlade is quieter then almost any hand dryer I have ever used and works really well. Raise and lower your hands 3-4 times and they are pretty much totally dry.
Only places I have ever seen them are at LAX (la international airport) and Century City (really large mall in LA).

One thing to keep in mind though is that those forced-air driers are unsanitary -- they blow crap onto your hands that wasn't there right after you washed them. I'm anal about getting my hands clean (if I wash them) so I generally don't wash them unless there are paper towels, or I deem that they're dirty enough.

They have those in most airports now.
There fantastic as far as I'm concerned... if you slowly in one motion put your hands in and out once, it drys them real fast.
THey are loud as heck tho....
